Blacked out window trim

I've been wondering about blacking out the chrome trim around the windows. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a picture without the chrome window trim? Thanks.

Yes, its been done before. I fellow done in Texas I believe, not sure. He did it with vinyl, didn't look too bad. If you search in the photo gallery, you'll find it.

edit: found the thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=Vinyl+Trim
Pics are gone though Maybe someone saved them. He's the only person I know of who did it.

Is there any way to paint it as a black chrome? Or replace it with black chrome pieces?

You could paint it, but I would have a paint shop look at it. There is a lot of prep work that would need to be done to it to accept paint. Painting it as is would be a no-no. It'll chip very easily.

They make chrome trim cover up tape. I've seen this stuff at the local auto stores. It looks like black tape but with a satin-like finish. I tried it out and looks good.
