Big Problems

Ok so as you know the place i brought the car to did nothing but screw me, so here's the deal when i picked up the car from them the other night it was running like shit all it would do is bog when i gave it gas. The place is in queens, so by the time i got back to brooklyn the car was running good again, so i just figured the ecu needed to relearn itself. Tonight i get in the car after work (three days later) and the car is bogging at idle a very little bit, so i just figured it was somthing stupid, i get home park the car for about an hour then leave to get gas and the bogging is a little worse after i put gas, then i went to checkers, leave the lot and the car can barely go anywhere. What the hell could be the problem? When i give it like 1/2 throttle the afr is reading ten, at idle my boost gauge is reading -20 when it is usually on -10, the exhaust smells like gas ( i think) and my fuel pressure gauge is acting wierd. Could it be the esm or maybe they played with my fpr? if so how can i tell? Please help i am supposed to get the car tuned monday so i have to fix this ASAP! If it weren't for bad luck i would have no luck at all!

they probly adjusted the FPR, just let 1320 tune it. they can figure it out. i'm sure it's just a tuning error.

That blows man but it does sound like fuel to me. I wish I could help you but the guy I know who could most likely mess with that doesn't work Sundays, but he does have a "shop" in Elizabeth by the police station

I'll try and call him tomorrow, but this guy changes his number so much like he is hiding from feds. He does good work he has built a right hand drive RX-7 and his shop is full of boosted 240sx. I don't know if you go down to Elizabeth much down E. Grand Street you will see a bunch of red 240sx on the corner of E. Grand and Magnolia and his shop is right there. PM me your number and I'll let you know if I get in touch with him tomorrow.

Sounds like fuel issues or the car is running too rich. What your FP (fuel pressure) at idle when car warmed up? It should be not less than 36psi otherwise the car will gasp for fuel and boggs.
Also what is your AFR at idle and normal driving. If they (the visited shop) played with e-manage without adjusting it first as I stated in PM, yet kept ESM and tried tuning with it, then I'm not surprised the aftermath.

BTW, which plugs are you using and hope you fill up 93 octane. Could be you have a bad gas but doubt that's the issue and I always use BP Ultimate (93).
So, FP/FPR/ignition coils and injectors should be checked first.

And again, remember the following next time you attempt to hook up e-manage:
1. The main unit MUST be setup first with switches and jumpers to work correctly
2. ESM MUST be removed when start tuning e-manage.

Also, there is a mechanic in NJ who regularly work on members' 3rd gen. sc TL(s) and also owns one. I've read somewhere he's SAE with over 12 years of experience, so might be worth to try. He might help you out with your current issues on your 2nd gen and he goes by the name of RYAN97812. PM him - https://acurazine.com/forums/members/ryan97812-125735/

Increase your FP to 36psi at idle (when car warmed up) or it should read about 40 upon cold start up. Here is the how you can do it yourself:

If that is NOT resolved you might have issues with FPR and another might be needed. It's not uncommon for FPR to fail. BTW, any CEL?

Like I said FP/FPR/ignition coils/injectors had to be checked first. Let us know if FP increase will resolve it since 32 is too low.

Good luck and do not hook up e-manage until everything resolved and it setup correctly.

Fuel filter or maybe even the pump is acting up. It's located in the trunk (under the carpet between the rear speakers. Do not mess with fuel yourself. Just do the FPR first and go from there.

Yes, turn it up to 36 warm, he said it already that 32 is too low when car warmed up.

Ok still same thing after i turned it up. I wanted to check the coils so i unpluged them one at a timewith the car running all but one of them had any affect on the running of the engine, so that tells me that either the coil or the plug is bad, is there a way of telling which one it is without taking the charger of the car? can i read it some how with a meter? If it is the plug can i get them from autozone or pepboys, would they stock them?

if you unplug the coils, you should feel the car surge. if you pull one of them and the car didn't surge that's the bad one...

also, stay away from IK22 get NGK

i had some issue with Denso IK22. all my plugs got burned out while on the dyno, this was on my J30A1 s/c engine though. no offence but that's just my experience.

Damn, sounds liek me wehn PA did my intake a while ago, I was running on 4 cylinders, a coil was disconnected for some odd reason, I was getting raped by old school cars left and right. I bet it's something simple. Leave the battery unplugged for 2 hours then try again. Worth a try. BTW, I'm talking to your guy about painting the car, gonna do it a nice non-metallic grey, kinda like the new Lambo GT (forgot the name) with the molded kit.

Yeah, I broke my hand and had a cast on for about a week, so I was slightly handicap. Yesterday i couldn't take it anymore and cut that shit off, Hand still hurts, but at least I can make it down to him and see about a quote. I want a non-metallic color, so when the kit is molded, it will look real slick with clean flat surfaces. But i want to see some other options too. You gonna be there or in the area anytime this week?

I called greddy and boomslang and they are both confused, anyone with any ideas? I couldn't resist to get the car dyned while i was there anyway, i will post the sheet when i get home.
