Bi-Xenon HID, where's Acura?
I was just looking at some of the 2002 cars and there are quite a few of them that will have Bi-Xenon headlights in the US! How come Acura doesn't have this, or none of the Japanese brands in general?
Bi-Xenon HID Models:
Volvo - 2002 (All Models)
Saab - 2002 9-5
BMW - 2002 7-Series, 3-Series, 3-Compact
Mercedes - SL/S/CL
Audi 2002 A6/A8
Volkswagen - 2002 Passat
Porsche - 2002 911 Turbo

Like all things there is reason for this.I am just guessing here but I imagine the reason goes like this.Car manufacturers sign deals with suppliers for getting many of their parts. So what this means is that Acura like any other company probably has contracts running with the suppliers of their lighting equipment, since these contracts run over years it may be that they cannot just up and change something to keep up with whatever the latest trend is.Also there is cost to design and to certify these sort of things. All of this raises the price of a car when it finally hits the showroom.Granted Acura/Honda probably could fill these cars with every gadget out there but that would raise the cars price to a level where they may have a tough time selling the things. In the end it is about vaue. Will people pay more for basically same car if it is equipped with whatever the gadget ?Wait till the next generation of cars comes around perhaps then we will see these lights.Jens

i think that list is wrong anyway.
the only one i could find that is getting bi-xenons are the bmw's.
the only thing i found for volvo is that xenons (lowbeam only?) will be available as an option on the s60. same with the 9-5 and passat.
the 2003 mb sl may get bixenons, but the 2002 which is the current model isn't.
and i havent' found anything about the a6 or a8 getting bi-xenons.
i think the porsche has had bi-xenons for some time now.
i'd like to find where drewsrx got his list from.
