Best Way to Reset ECU
Best Way to Reset ECU
What is the best way to reset the ECU after getting a new intake or exhaust?
I've read alot about disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for 15-30 minutes then reconnecting them and idle the car for 10mins to let the ECU adjust.
I've also digged into old posts and someone wrote that there is a 'backup' fuse that you can disconnect in the passenger side fuse box. This seems to be the best way for me as I do not wish to reset the radio and navigation systems and then have to mess with putting in the codes.
In conjunction to that, I just replaced the ac cabin filters thanks to instructions from post here. Does the ECU need to adjust to that? If it does then for this case is pulling that fuse and resetting just the ECU enough? Or do i need to disconnect the battery as to reset the ac system too?
Lastly, if pulling that fuse is the way to go. Does anyone have pictures or instructions on how to do so? I dont even know where the passenger side fuse box is.
Thanks in advance.
