I have 225/40/18 but 235/40/18 is actually closer to stock diameter if your wheel offset and suspension drop can handle it.
I’ll be going with 235 when I replace my rubber next year.

plus, 235/40/18 gives you the best bet to actually support the CL's weight...based on manufacturer's rating anyways.

funny the 245/40's have a lower load rating then the 235 howeve i think the 235's must have the re enforced side wall... BTW 245's 25.7 235's 25.4

235 gives you more WIDTH... "meat on the pavement", but you have to watch your set up so you don't rub..

Things such as: Offset.. 42 is the lowest.. 45-50 is common.
Width of rim... 7.5-8.0...

once you get your rim figured out that you want, then you can answer these questions easier..

I can say this.. if you run a 18X7.5, a 235 size tire will be wide.."sort of look ballonish/bulgy on the sidewalls.. let alone you might have fitment issues..

Do you have a drop.

But if you run a 18X8, then I say, go for the 235, but watch your load ratings... the whip is not light.... I hope you choose a good tire too, not some cheap POS.

hahaha thanks, but i already have 18x7.5 rims and right now i'm running on 215/40/18 tires... and they perfectly wrap the rim, but im lookin fer a lil more rubber, a lil wider i guess so im guessing 225/40 is ideal fer me

and smitty, yes my car is lowered

I would buy a size that equals the stock diameter at 25.6".
Otherwise you'll lose some power with a smaller diameter, if that's important to you.
