I really don’t understand why people continue to think this is necessary.

I like my Injen CAI.. I'm really not sure what the big deal is about Icebox being quiet.. I mean.. don't most of us drive with the stero on anyway?? I can never hear anything until Vtec.

I love my Injen, however, I only bought it b/c the Injen blue matched my car better then the AEM blue
AEM and Injen are basically the same... 6-8 HP at the wheel. Comptech shows gains of 15hp on their dyno.. but we've yet to have a good independant dyno here. They are usually accurate with their numbers... so if that remains true on this product, then the Icebox is the way to go for power, but again, it's still up in the air.

I have the Ice-box and I think it beats all other intakes after my tranny replacement the gears aren't changing aggresively so my take is my 1/4 will not be impressive.
I am willing to dyno my car if somebody knows a good place in Queens and L.I.. Unfortunately there is no stock dyno to compare to but it will help give something to work off.
Im also willing to do the same day with somebody with the AEm, Injen, stock, Xpher ,and any home-made intakes also

all the basic tube intakes are the same, it really depends on the filter used.
Also, shawn alot of people probally take of the front bumper cause they can't get the plugs on the fender liner out, sometimes they can be stubborn.

I'd say AEM because I actually NOTICED some increase, though not major like headers. The sounds of the intake is also one key reason why I like it! You won't know the true sound of our 3.2 liters pumping away unless you have it enhanced in AEM! I'm not sure about the Injen, but I assume they are similar.
The icebox is nice, IMO, only if your looking for closest to stock (Comptech's track record). If you want good looks and sound and comparable power (very very close), you can't go wrong with AEM (or Injen I assume too). I'm not sure if you guys saw their dyno for our car, but the AEM site has a dyno on OUR car showing 15hp gain to WHEELS shown at http://www.aempower.com/pdf/results/...pe-S%20CAS.pdf
It says "corrected" HP, which I assume means its the real deal, but I could be wrong. Surprisingly the 6speed dyno is lower, gaining only 10hp. But again, any intake is based on your wants and needs.
Also, though nothing can compare to actually hearing it roar under the hood while hitting VTEC in real life, my VIDEO gives a good representation!

While the Icebox is not for show, it is designed for go.
The most noticeable difference will be in hotter weather.
In cold weather there will be little difference IMO.
However, the Icebox has an advantage over the AEM approach. With the AEM the filter is at the top of the air pickup tube.
The CT design has the airhorn open at the bottom, allowing it to create better suction. And it protects the filter from trash, water and heat better. Thereby reducing premature clogging and unecessary heating of the air.
