I don't know where you buy your bummers from, but here in the east coast you aint gonna touch a bummer for under list. (I got screwed out of a good price on a new m3, salesman left and so did my deal). So raise your price to at least $36k for what you have listed. You are now $8,000 over a real priced cl-s and you still don't have all the options. You do get that little propeller hood thing, which is the best quality made part on any 3-series.

I would go is-300 over a 325. I would go solara over a 325. The only 3 series worth considering is the m3, but you are way over 30k.

Initially I thought I'd get another. But then I started checking into insurance (which I didn't when I actually got the car) and find that the Cl-S was the most expensive car of the following: 330Ci, 330i coupe, A4 1.8/2.8, S4, TTs, C320, Maxima, IS300, GTI. Plus, the CL-S has a pretty horrible lease program c/w the other options. So, do I get the CL-S? (Which I think has the nicest interior, esp the navi system that I miss) or do I go with the S4 or 300Ci which are actually cheaper to live with?</font>
Wow, when I checked the insurance on a 2001 CL-S it was almost exactly the same as I'm currently paying on my 99 A4 2.8 quatro. As far as financing, you're right. Acura financing isn't terribly competitive and (at least in SoCal) most Acura dealers ONLY go thru them. The other problem with financing is that the car was new for 2001, so the residual they build into the lease is artifically low because there's no used car prices to benchmark against. The residual on a 36 month lease is like $16k (around 50% of sticker). The residual on my Audi lease is $20k (55% of sticker). The lower the residual, the more you gotta build into the financing, the higher the payment. That's why I'm still on the fence and not buying/leasing yet.

M3Sins: correction to your homework:
I got this from the BMW website. I assume that you meant the 325Ci and not the 325i sport wagon.

BMW 325Ci $28,990
Dest. Chg $645
Black Sapphire Metallic (color) $475
Black Leather interior $1450
Sport Pkg $1000
Steptronic Tranny $1275
Pwr Moonroof $1050
Pwr Seats w/ Driver Memory $945
Heated Seats $500
Xenon lights $500
Harmon Kardon Sound system $675

for a grand total of $37,505 on a car with 184 HP, 175 torque and goes 0-60 in approx 7.1 sec. I like those Teutonic buggers, but are they a better deal than the Acura 3.2 Cl Type S?? Sorry, my friend. i just don't see it happening. Better beef up those homework skills.

TripleH: Take it from an utterly unbiased source. You should buy 3 Kia Rios.

With what other option can you claim import build quality and 288 horsepower (cumulative)? With what other option can you sit in "air-conditioned" comfort as you savor the warm & fuzzy feelings of amusement & validation at the huge "POS" some punk keyed in your hood?

With seating for 12.5 of your friends, it's a virtual Suburban. Despite the amazing capacity, you're never saddled with the Surburban's unwieldiness. Traffic jam? Shoot, just have each Rio take a different detour and sure enough one will get there. Now that's agility unmatched by even sports/sporty cars.
