Best $2 I have spent on the car

Picked this up at the local Pep Boys.

put it around the back of my plate holder

Nice and snug fit and does it's job well

Now the plate holder won't scratch up the bumper saving me $250 to repaint.

wish I had done that when I first got the car. No point in adding it now, it is already so scratched up.

You're the man Lou! After months of trying to get away without a front plate, I figured I'd better put it on. I put those little clear bumpers on th eback, but they fell off. I'm goin gto ty your trick today. Man, I hate the way the car looks with a front plate and I don't want the bumper scratched from the holder. Thanks for the idea Lou, wish I thought of it sooner.

here is a closeup it really sticks snuggly and plus its pressed firmly to the bumper. I was planning on doing it to my 02' but it was all scratched up already but its not happening to my 03'

Though we don't need them here in FL, great idea nonetheless!

What is that hideous thing? Is that...a front license plate?! I've never seen one of those!

the other idea which I have liked is to apply black electrical tape, or if your car is not black, then clear electrical or packing tape to the bumber underneath where the plate holder hits the bumber. Keep an eye on it over time and when it gets worn, peel it off and replace.

That's a very ingenious idea! When I had my CLS, I put small pieces of back foan in between the plate and bumper. But on my TLS, the dealer supplied front plate frame doesn't actually touch the bumper - it sits about a 1/2" away.

Do ya think it would stick well the edge of the actual license plate for the back bumper to keep it from rubbing there. It seems worse there since it screws right up against the rear bumper.
