Beat a modded 1.8T
At a light I took off fairly fast compared to the rest of the traffic (3 lanes). An electric blue lowered Jetta weaved up and we got a light together. We both took off kinda conservatively w/ little to no wheel spin. As soon as I saw him get on it I jumped on it as well. By the end of first I had about 1.5 cars and near the end of 2nd I was about 3 ahead. We spoke at the next light. Cool guy - mid 20's. 1.8T w/ a T3 or T4 turbo?? I don't remember what he said. He said he had dyno'd 320 at the wheels and had done a 13.6 quarter. Didn't know the MPH. I told him he had at least 40hp on me and a lighter car. He said he didn't launch right, but I KNOW we both eased into it at the beginning...can't mess that up. Anyway, either he really did mess up or his dyno was crap.
Oh yeah, he said he had a custom tuned APR chip too. I could hear the BOV after we spoke. All in all, nice looking ride.

t3/t04 on those cars will yield 320 WHP and APR's software can support it.
Great job beating him man
Only thing is that big turbo cars do have a tendency to lag (spooling of the turbo) but we all know the street is run what you brung

Well you probably have better gearing and no lag, so thats probably the reason for the advantage. Was it awd or not? I dont know if they make awd 1.8T Jettas. If it was he lost because from a roll, even 5mph, awd saps hp a ton.

I just don't see how he could have had 300+HP is the thing. He said the car weighed about 2950lbs too! That's 40hp and over 400lbs difference.
