My friend's 2003 Maxima SE auto sometimes doesn't downshift properly. So when we're racing from a roll, I'd really beat him bad a couple of times. Also, I noticed that the older gen Maximas shine from a dead stop (with all that torque). By 55-60 mph, the TLS is slowly pulling on it and passing it. While I doubt you beat the Max by 7 carlengths, I think 2 or 3 cars are not out of the question. Do you realize how much a distance 7 carlengths is?

This thread will not get anywhere because like I said earlier us Max guys are going to claim we are quicker and TLS/CLS guys are going to say the same thing. So all we are doing is going in a circle and in all reality they are very evenly matched, and we all know this. If anyone in either car say that they killed one of the other the other car wasnt trying or its B.S end of story!

What also kills me is that every other thread seems to be Maxima/Accord V6 even 350Z vs TL/TLS we all know how they compare its so many other cars out their( Diamante IS300 etc). I guess no one hardly ever encounters these other cars.

best run in my fathers 04 maxima se auto is a 14.48 so far bone stock... the guy couldnt drive his 03 max at all. the 03s run about the same alittle slower. but that depends who u talk to. 02,03,04 max vs 01 through 04 tl-s cl-s and the new tl drivers race.. stock for stock

the max was the 04 se 5spd auto.. nothing removed from car spare and jack still in there. also the heviest out of the maxes i have the elite pachage..

You know how these things work? Maxima dude runs CLs dude and is losing by a car, so at about ??mph Maxima dude see's it's pointless and he's not going to win and gives up. CLs dude is just looking straight ahead and then glances in the mirror 2 or 3 seconds after Maxima dude gave up. CLs dude states "Wow, look at me I'm 7-8 cars ahead of Maxima dude, Maxima's are slow". Simple enough. A CLs will not beat a 255hp Maxima by 7-8 cars if both drivers are trying the whole time.
