Banged up my car, AGAIN... *pics*
I'm really upset at myself. Mostly, because this has been the 2nd time in 3 months that I've banged up my car. First time in February I didn't look both ways at a stop sign (long day at work) and i had minor damage ($1,628) to the front passenger side fender; my fault. This time making a left hand turn onto an on-ramp I was going what I thought was an 'allowable' speed my car could handle. I've done sharper, faster turns before with no problem.
Back-end of my car broke loose for no reason into the left hand turn, I was losing control of the car, and I over-corrected the manuevering so the front passenger side of my car hit the higher-than-normal curb, sending me over and slamming on-top of the small mound of concrete with the undercarriage of my car.
Since I had the brake depressed during the slide as I slammed into the curb, my tire was locked and pushed back the entire wheel INTO the passenger fender, causing some substantial damage.
Also, I have reason to believe I sufferred GREAT suspension damage as well as undercarriage damage. I may have even bent the frame slightly as I did hit rather hard (~35mph).
Since the back-end of my car was still turning through the impact, my passenger-side rear tire AND rim were damaged.
Check out the missing chunk of tire. Amazingly, there was no VISABLE damage to the front tire.
Police finally came to take a report and the call the tow truck. No tickets issued.
Tow truck comes and he places the tow in front of my car. He checks the side of the impact as he's backing it in.... Ooops, forgets to extend the arm on the driver's side...
What an ass. I don't even care since the bumper was gonna get replaced anyway. It was just REALLY careless. What if I just broke-down and needed a lift?!
That side of the bumper popped back into place like tupperware and just left a scratch.
But notice the wheel... The driver's side is straight... The passenger's side, is NOT.
Alignment damage, suspension damage, new bumper, new passenger front fender, etc.... I call $5-6k in damages...
Sucks to be me. Shouldn't have gone to the mall after work.

That's going to be one costly repair bill.... Damaging the front tire like that on a FWD car is VERY costly. A friend of mine did something similar to his 2000 Accord and his car was totaled.

You think the body shop is going to give you a discount like Madonna's abortion doctor did?
This does really suck, I could send pics of the damage to my car, which was around 6k, looked worse than this does.
Madonna reference goes back to an O & A bit about her 11 abortions, getting a punch card and once she got 10 she got the 11th free.

Your insurance company is not going to be happy with you.
Unless you have a friend in the insurance business, you will probably be receiving a cancelation letter soon.

How the hell are you people getting the rear end to swing around? Its gotta be the swaybars, no? I've never had any hint of oversteer in mine, and I've taken some decent corners at speed, hell even tried to induce it with throttle lift and it didnt come close to coming around.

Damn Moe....
I dont know what to say. You better watch your self. Soon, your PA insurance will be as much as your NJ insurance was.
Now, I dont need to tell you, but make sure that you take care of what ever loaner car you are going to get.
Where the hell did it happen?

How was the cop with you? Did he give you any shit? Sometimes they see a nice car like that with nice rims and automatically assume you were doing something crazy (which you might have been).

That blows! At least your ok & this didn't involve any other cars.
Flat bed is the perfered method. The way it was done is acceptable. The other Tow method that uses hooks is the way it should never be towed.
I also can't see how to get the back end out with the mods I have. I have done it with the car stock. I have tried to on my car since & it wouldn't go. It will slide & skid a few feet but the back stays put.

In Bill Clinton voice.... YuppieCL, I feel your pain. I really do. I too have had bad luck with my CL-s. This week I hit a truck in front of me when I looked down for just 1 sec. Damage to my front bumper, front beam, absorber, upper beam. Then I got a speeding ticket 1/2 an hour later going the speed of traffic.
In March I had my car broken into, fuckers did $4500 in damage stealing my airbags and breaking my window... getting glass all over my leather seats and shit, but not before first getting my CL towed one week prior for parking at a private lot. About 3 weeks ago I come back from the airport to find my cat laying next to the curb on my street. Someone ran over him.
I had so much shit happen to me and my car recently, which is silver like yours btw. I'm beginning to think God hates my guts. Anyways, I have to remind myself it's just a fucken car. In 5 yrs it will be worthless no matter how much money I invest in it. Life could be worse. For all I know, I be in Iraq, getting my head cut off by freaking Al Quida members. So I guess I'm lucky in that sense.
