Are Ballasts covered under extended warranty?
OK so my headlights have been replaced twice (once when it was stolen, and the other when they blew out). The first set was covered by insurance and their body shop took care of it...the second set was done by the dealer, which resulted in 2 different brand bulbs (one side was OSRAM, the other PHILLIPS, since the dealer replaced each side at 2 different times).
My situation...one of my headlights blew again!
My theory? After close examination, the headlight units were completely missing the rubber seals that make it weather proof.
After bringing it to the dealer again, they told me it was the body shop's fault for not having the rubber seals in the first place...EVEN THOUGH they were the ones that touched it last (which by the way I would assumed they would of informed me of my situation). In addition, they regret to inform me that they do not cover HID bulbs!
OK, so I accepted my losses and ordered me a set of 6000k D2Rs, only to find out that it had nothing to do with the bulbs (both 4200k bulbs work) and it was the BALLAST's fault!
I tested both sets of bulbs, ignitors & ballasts, to find out that one of the ballasts blew out.
So my question...is the BALLAST covered under extended warranty? Or would the dealer give me another run around? Please...only respond if you KNOW the answer.
