Badges Broke Off!!!
Thanks guys for reading. My rear badges broke off!!!, what should I do??
My area was plummeted with that massive snowstorm about two weeks ago, and when I dug out my car, one of the "A's" from ACURA was gone, the "C" was hanging off, the 3 on the "3.2" part was broken, and the "CL" part was very loose and hanging.
Now this could only have only been from the cold weather and all of that ice we received. I wanted to get all new badges and I know I can pretty much go onto the AcuraOEM website and order them. I wanted to know what's the best way to reattach them?? I see this black sticky rubbery substance that was holding it together, but I don't know where to even start to reattach them once I receive the lettering.
I know some of you just debadge your CL's, but I just wanna keep em on just incase I need to sell the car.
Where can I get that rubbery stuff from or should I just use like super glue over that area and just reattach it? Thanks ya'll.

New badges come with the sticky backing already in place. To adhere good you will have to take all the old badges off, then really clean the area. Then use a template to center the letters & badges to get everything lined up.
The other alternative to be just debadge the car & be done with it.
Car looks better without all that crap anyway. And if selling it no one is going to care if there are badges on the rear or not.

I would just clean all the goo off the back and leave it de-badged. It wont really hurt the value of the car, and most people think it looks better that way.

You're already on your way to being debadged, just finish removing them

Mine did the same thing about a month ago. I was washing the car with a pressure washer and when I got to the back of the car I saw the CL hanging by a thread. I hadn’t even hit it with the washer yet. I removed the CL and S completely. Some of the paint at the edges of the CL and S adhesive had chipped off for some reason. I used a pressure washer to remove the goo just like every time I clean the car.
I cleaned the backs of the old letters, removed all the goo on the paint, and used a strip of masking tape on the paint just under where the adhesive of the old lettering was for prep. For the new adhesive I went to Autozone and found a roll of automotive double-sided emblem adhesive tape and used scissors to trim the tape neatly and cleanly to the back of the old letters. I lined the letters up on the top edge of the masking tape and they look great and are stuck on very well. Cant tell the difference. It did take a while to trim the tape to look right behind the lettering.
