Cars burn very quickly, so even if it wasnt intentionally set, it would prob have burned out like you see before the fd even got there. Even if there was no gas in it at all, it would have completely burned out.
The front isnt burned probably because the wind was blowing from that direction
The trunk is smashed up because the firefighters destroyed it trying to get it open to extinguish the rest of the fire. Same thing with the hood. (Hoods and trunks are VERY hard to forcibly open.)
The rust is from the fire. Without getting into the physics of it, fire causes things to rust at an extremely fast rate. Any metal that was in a a fire will be rusted.
If you ask me, does look somewhat suspicious since it looks like the cabin burned first, but it could just as easily been something else. Could have been electrical / cigarette / or anything. Car fires are not uncommon, even in newer cars.

well fraud or not... jus let you know.. i had a 2001 full option prelude with leather with 40k miles... and it got rear ended... my insurance paid me 16200... does that make you feel a lil better?
