bad news for the CL
I was talking with dad(he's worked for honda of america for 20 years) tonight and I was trying to get out of him if they are going to cut the CL(cause as you know sales for the CL have been dropping). the way he acted and the stuff he said it's not a bright future for the CL and CL-S :thumbsdn: :thumbsdn: so if you guys are looking to get a CL or CL type S do it soon cause I don't think there will be a 04 or 05 model year on the CL
the TL will remain from what he said.

You know who will get the next CLS ? The Japanese most likely. Think about it....we have been the "beta" site for the new Accord here in the USA . Ghee, all they have to do is rename it in Japan.......I'll be dissappointed with Acura/Honda is the CL is canned......

My point is I dislike 4 door "sedans" !!!!! :ghey:
Therefore what are my choices ? GO BACK TO HONDA FOR A FRICKEN Accord ?????????????? I don't think so, besides, my CLS is paid for and will remain in my family for a long time !

No big deal for me... this will be my last Acura for a while. I am not impressed with the car and even less so with the Service. They are a far cry from the service I saw at Lexus.
Have no idea what my next car will be, but certainly not another Acura..

Really? If they really wanted to *buy* one or two, then why would we even have to discuss the demise of the CL line?
If everyone would see our discountinued car and want to buy it, I don't think we would be in this delimma....but I will agree that it would be fucking PHAT to roll around in a limited production CLS!
yea bitch!

HAAAAAA. I never thought of it like that. Thats exactly what it would be, a limited edition. Well I'll do the same. I to will trade in my CLS '01 for a '03 MT. But geese it will be hard to own a limited edition. I dog the living crap out of my '01. But I take very good care of the car, especially warming it up, I don' tdo shit untill 5 min after the car has reached peak operating temp.
But man they should keep the CLS around and for '04 have an engine option, the 3.5 Type-S .

no word yet as of when they are going to end production on the CL and the CL-S. Dad said they cut 2500+ units scheduled for this month already. He said THEY ARE VERY CONCERNED with sales of the CL.and they haven't really produced a lot of sales much for awhile.(I Know the economy blows). Dad told me they brought out the CL-S with 6 speed to "spike sales" hopeing to get more people to buy CL's but as sweet and fast as they are it's not working.
he said he thinks the CL will be replaced with something else(kind of like the CL replaced the Legend). he didn't say anything about the motor or specs on the replacement.

They need to come out with a 6 speed, 300HP Coupe. We can only sit back a pray.

But here is something that I heard, well has Honda or Acura ever built a V8. If they ever did then why not throw that into the NSX. Another thing that I heard is that Acura/Honda will never build a V8. Don't know for sure, mostly rumor, and speculation.

If Honda would build V-8 it would suprise me for 2 reasons.
#1 where they used to build the Civic engines in the Anna plant they just got moved so therefore they just added onto the Anna plant for the new Civic line. they'd have to build a whole new line(which is VERY VERY expensive), they have to train everyone on processes and how to run machines
#2. as you know Honda on the mileage deal right now. so bringing out a V-8 would kind of make themself look bad i think.
as long as their on the mileage deal I don't think Honda will have a V-8. they might tweak the V-6's to the 10th degree but I don't see a V-8 for atleast 5 years. :P
who knows if Honda needs more power they might run the 3.5 in all the V-6s
