bad MPG because of a leaky header?

is it possible? because since I installed this AW header... it's leaking and what not... I noticed that my gas needle is going down way faster. I drove 70km and it's at quater tank, before that I pretty much normally did 110-120 at the 1/4 mark. Now that seems totally F'ed up. And no I didn't floor it, normal driving.
Any expert advice on why this could be occuring?

I noticed my gas mileage dropped after installing both OBX, then CT headers. I rode the OEM inbetween the two and saw the MPG go up with the OEM and then fall off again when one of the two upgraded headers were installed.
