thats hot. those skid plates look aggressive as fuck!

even so... 5.4 seconds seems kind slow for a V12 in such a tiny SUV.

The X5 4.6 is 5.6 to 60 no?

Most reviews have it in the high 6's... and a low 15 ET.
Still not too shabby. We'll see if the Porsche ever makes it out.

Edmunds posted the 0-60 time for the 4.6is as 6.5 seconds. Not sure if they are totally accurate, but I doubt 5.6 due to its weight

I don't see how it does 6.5 and low 15... high 15's would make sense...because the 0-60 would be decent due to the grip from the AWD, but i doubt the weight helps top end.

This is all nice for marketing, but in reality the Typhoon is still the quickest and was produced in numbers.

Not to mention those 11 or 12 second Typhoons out there...

Albeit they won't match the interior comforts expected in current SUV's. But they will better the performace at 1/2 to 1/3 the price.

Yeah, I saw that one already. I know the son of the founder of Brabus, and this car has come up quite often as a topic of conversation.

Soopa,

Check this out: http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/previ...9/article.html

But, of course, all these additions and upgrades are just appetizers for the 4.6is' juicy main course: its beefed-up, ultra-potent 4.6-liter V8, which boasts a snarling 347 hp at 6,500 rpm and 354 pound-feet of torque at 3,700 rpm. It was clearly meant to steal thunder from the Mercedes ML55, and it does manage to best it in terms of horsepower: The ML55 comes in at 343. The brawny V8 aims to impress and it does, hustling the 4.6is from 0 to 60 mph in a neck-snapping 6.5 seconds.

not the Jeep, it's got Quadra Drive and it is just sick in the snow and offroad. That's one good thing I like about it. What I have heard is the Mercedes sucks off road and in the snow, the BMW 4.4i is supposed ot be great in snow becuase of some sport suspension or something. But overall the Jeep IMO is the best, fast, can go offroad like no other, great traction, looks sweet, sounds sweet inside, and is luxury too.

Off road my @ss

Off-road- paleaze! That thing was built for the street and shouldnt leave the street. Its got no clearance and doubt it would go anywhere "offroad" other then your occasional dirt road.

what a waste of money..

KJ

offroad should = clearence,gearing, tires, armor,lockers,flex!!

WHAT are you talking about!!! Have you ever driven one of these, I have driven plenty we have had them since 91, they are the best SUVs out there for going off road. Try match up a MB or BMW or 4runner to a Jeep, the Jeep will eat it alive. That is the dumbest thing I ever heard, Jeep is known for it's off road. Maybe the only thing that can touch it is a Land Rover, but those are slow and shitty rides. I have taken the Jeep everywhere off road and it does quite well. It uses the same stuff as the Wrangler and it is done better in the GCL. You can do anything to those cars.

BTW they come with offroad tires, 10" ground clearence and damn good shocks. It doesn't matter either way because no one who buys them really takes them off road, we supercharged ours for fun, but when I go skiing in Dec and all my friends in their 4runners and Ml320s can't go through the off road trails maybe i'll tow em along

BTW as ugly as the Jeep Liberty is and slow too it is sick offroad.

Arent you all forgetting the X5 LeMans edition? It shares the same M-powered v12 as the McLaren F1. I am pretty sure its considerably faster than the ML..... 0-60 in 4.6.....

Oh hell yeah that beast beat the M roadster around the track, but you can't buy it so that doesn't count.

When I read the Subject mention SUV, the Ty is the first thing that popped to mind. However, the actual claim is:

"BRABUS M V12
The Fastest and Most Exclusive Off Road Vehicle in the World"

The Ty is not an off-road vehicle, IMO, but I do love those things...

i once read a test on the ultimate off road vehicle, and the G had to pull a Hummer out of the mud

and i assume no one here has seen the ML test track in AL where the Ml climbs the "roller" wall
