hi I'm new here and I just bought a 2001 3.2CLS and the cd player is not working. It shows the error 1 code, so I took the cd player out but there is only one plug pluged into the back were the should be two. Should one slot be empty or should there be two plugs going into the deck. Any help would be great. Cheers

 

Does the radio work? Or is it just the cd player that is not working?

 

radio works but nothing works for the cd. I can't play, eject or load.

 

The second plug is supposed to be empty. It is for an external CD changer.
Sounds like the CD player is dead. You will need a new one.
