Going to the gym and I see a very nice black RSX Type-S... lowered, rims, exhaust, sway-bar etc. I kind of followed him cuz I have been on a high lateley... and very politeley (we are in a pretty empty street) asked the guy if he'd like to try his car out. I said I just bought my car... and he kinda grinned and said "Sure!".

This is probably the first time I have ASKED someone to race... but really was curious how these cars run.

We were making a right turn from two lanes... so I waited until he kind of started spinning his tires as I was already 1-car ahead after the turn. I didn't launch... just floored it. I had him by 6-7 car lengths.... am sure he must have let off after about 5 cars ahead.

I gave him the thumbs up and he said "You got me..." Nice guy in my opinion... on excuse... nothing.

He had exhaust and intake for sure... very likely has headers (too many mods not to have a header!)... possibly the Hondata ECU, but can't say for sure.

Great story. I love playing with people, win or lose, and when I leave the highway they wave.

It's the Civics and Cavaliers that get all heated and flip you off.

ive seen on the rxs board that with I/h/e hondata and possibly one or two other mods they can run mid 13's, so most likely he didn't have headers and ECU if you beat him by that much.

Some of those RSX 's are very quick, I have a friend that has one with everything on it: bodykit, vented fenders, intake, mufflers, light wt rims and his is a 6-spd and he always stays beside me or takes me by no more than one car-length. I just can't believe his is that quick

2003
6-spd

DRIVE IT LIKE IT'S STOLEN

The turbo is off the car... but my car is probably running mid 13's at the slowest... so I am not surprised if his is running low 14's.

You are giving our cars a good name Is it just the Intake/TB/Headers you are kicking people's ass with or do you have something else up your sleeve (cams done yet)? Mid 13's "at the slowest" would be great!

Okay.. he had that rear tie-bar... you can see that from underneath... and I thought I saw a blue-connection on either side... so I assumed they were sways... something after-market.. that's for sure!

I think he also had upgraded cup-holders, a bouncing-barbie on the dash and a ported 'n polished gear-shift

No time-slip... so I won't update my sig until I have a dyno AND the time-slip as proof - can't show a dyno with 245 or 250whp and expect to run mid 13's

prolly gonna need close to 300whp and some sticky dr's to see mid 13's, but if anybody can do its you, good luck w/ your new setup.

now that i think about it though u prolly could of went faster than 12.9 w/ 345whp, maybe its just the fwd, or u just cant drive, j/k lol

With sticky tires.. probably would have run mid 12's with 345whp. I probably need around 275whp to run mid 13's... 300whp would mean low 13's.

The turbo and most of the components I purchased from retailers or manufacturers... I designed and had the manifold fabricated and installed it myself.

The kit is sold now.

Current mods:

Custom CAI
Custom billet throttle-body (70mm)
Extrude-honed and ported intake manifold
Comptech Header
UR Pulley Set (complete)

On Order:

Comptech flywheel and clutch
Misc. stuff

That's it!
