Honda is over 20 years behind Mitsubishi as far as coming out with a true sports car. Look at the effort you have to put into making a Civic a high performance car. Then think that every Civic that has come off the showroom floor STILL can't touch even a old ass STOCK Conquest TSI. But we're talking about street/modified racing. It doesn't matter whether the Conquest isn't in production anymore. How long has it been since 60's musclecars have been out of production yet they're still kicking ass all over North America? The Acura NSX is old as hell but tell somebody it's an ugly peice of shit. The Toyota Supra has been out of production for a long time but with the potential of that car it can eat up almost anything on the road. But that car is "ugly" and non-existent too. Please.

story of my life. even with my H-swap (which is still slo btw) but around my area its all about K-swaps, which makes competing even harder.

all i have is I/H/E with a chipped P06 ECU that revs out to 8k and has 4k 2-step launch. i dont have much obviously but my header has a modified flex-pipe so i picked up some low end power.
ill probaly just pick up a clutch/flywheel and ill be done. my current project is cleaning up my engine bay and getting rid of useless things. ive removed and hidden a number of things even after this picture.

ive been racing since before i had my license. i built an integra with a jdm b16 on a 75 shot and an ek hatch with a jdm LS on a 150 shot. both moved pretty decent... when i compare it to my CLS now, its a good trade off. go-kart ride and constantly eating tires to luxury and decent speed in a boat. so far ive got a fully built d16 on 8lbs of boost in a civic coupe and a built gsr sedan civic under my belt, as well as an 07 civic si with full exhaust and intake etc.... so far have only lost to an SRT8 and my best friends lightning with massive bolt-ons

Trust me your 2.2CL was just about as quick as the 2004 Galant I had to drive around before my CL-S. Back when I had the Galant I ran into a ton of swapped civics whose owners all claimed they were stock, wouldn't it piss you off if you wasted your time lining up against some "stock" civic and than getting your doors blown off?

As I said, swapping a motor is much more costly and time consuming. He was saying you should buy a new car if you dont like the rims that are on your current one. Which is pretty stupid considering a motor swap is a totally different aspect.
