Azine thoughts XS V6 Accord Turbo for CL-S?
I've notice a lot of people with XS headers as mods. Just curious if any has considered the turbo option. Link below.

Exactly Cl-s Prg! I emailed the XS people and they were like its a 50% gain. I didn't know what it translated too. But it sounded good to me. I was looking for headers besides CT and I stumbled on the turbo in my search. At 500 bucks I'd get it today lol

as far as design of it, not so bad (could be improved, but not horrible), the issue is the build quality, and more specifically the quality of the welds (which iirc where not done right, but also the tubing is a little on the thinner side for the heat built by a turbo)

then CLS6 actually sold it to Civcdrivr (who never installed it); then she sold it to Assclown, which has it installed on his car (TL) along with the J32A2 6-speed swap, as far as him getting numbers for what it can put down, nothing yet, because of tuning issues (he is trying for a full standalone solution and not a piggyback like CLS6 had), and not quite getting it running right, so still a work in progress for him

Keep in mind that was his first setup. He upgraded the intercooler and the turbo and lowered the boost from 8-9 to 5.8psi and made 363/310.

but so true though with quality components
FUCK i want a $380 air/oil separator for the wife's subie; it's generally considered the best one out there (and a direct bolt-on for her WRX), let alone it is even pre-heated by the coolant coming from the turbo; but also it self-drains back, so no emptying of it periodically

My guess is that the piping also sucks ass. I'm sure that it will turn to that crappy gold color in no time due to the cheap finish on the piping and what not. As others said, the welds are probably crap too and would need to be worked over. To me, it just does not seem right to spend $500 on a kit that will then require you to fix up. I hope that one day a company will create a kit specifically for a 2nd gen. That would be badass and I'd go for it.

still needs work though to get it to get it in a decent condition (but for some people not too much of an issue though)
and even then it is a VERY good start to going turbo (and the manifold i would say is the hardest part about going turbo), then as you get more money, you can upgrade the parts as needed

My other problem with all of this is that we need a real TUNE. Most members on here have sold off and transfered their kits because they can never get there car running where they want it to be. That's what I've gathered on here at least. I personally would have put off getting my headers and would have bought this instead if we had a steady full tuning option for this car. I'm still pissed that AEM didn't release the ems2 for 6-Speeds. It just makes it that much more difficult for us.

same basic concept with the comptech headers, but higher quality to start with though (the upper manifolds are just the header part)
and if anything that is the biggest thing of a manifold design, with getting all the exhaust ports "connected"
as far as tuning, yeah that is what is mainly holding us back now (and the AEM EMS in my mind is for SWAPPED cars, not the original chassis's; i like the ABS and VSA still fully functioning on my car )

I've heard the welds and turbo are shit but those are easy things to replace though, hell an exhaust mechanic and clean the welds up in a day.
But it is a good starting point.

Yeah I only said that because it can basically give you a layout for a manifold setup without having to fab too much stuff up, but you still need to do the rest I remember when they used to have an injector set and a crappy piggy back setup that used to go with it, but if you do buy one, redo all the welds, but the actual piping is fine, my friend still has his from when he bought it on ebay for 300 bucks, me and him just re did all the welds and they are still holding up but he put it on an accord.

Ok spoke with the XS rep here is his last response in regarding to the turbo.
"HEY
we have really come a long way in our welding , no more cracks ...
Some mod's might be necessary , but albeit minor and, the best turbo is the vband T3 , T70 , FOR SURE!
see attached , use those for your IC pipes

You can have a reliable turbo daily driver, just need to pay for a good tune, but the problem is if I am not mistaken is getting the electronics for a good tune for our cars.
Not very many "budget" tuning options as far as I know and piggyback will only get you so far before you start to experience problems.
