Is Autoweek worth 20 bucks?

I just got an invitation from Autoweek for 52 weekly issues for 19.95.

While it would be nice to get a new rag every week, is this magazine even worth a damn? I've never read it.

I love Autoweek, think of it as an auto enthusiasts USA Today. You can zip through it pretty quick, lots of Motorsports news which i like, and they get the scoop on new cars way before you'll read it in C+D, or Motor Trend. Come on, it's 0.38 an issue !!

One more rumor mag to waste time reading or just waste time chucking in the trash if you're like me and barely have time to read one mag a month let alone a weekly one.

Besides doesn't gavrill just post anything interesting from it to this forum anyway? :P

I've been a subscriber since back when AutoWeek was a newspaper. I like it! However, don't subscribe thinking you'll get news first from Autoweek. They have some wierd deal with the other auto mags to where they won't scoop them. In other words when X car is on the cover of Car and Driver you'll see it in Autoweek at the same time. Not months bfore like you'd expect from a weekly.

Yeah, but one thing they can't get scooped on by any other mag is racing news. there is no better way to get your racing news imo. the classifieds are wortht the money too, they are fun to look at and see what's out there. I've been an autoweek subscriber for 12 years and I look forward to it a lot. If you looked at the mag and can't decide on yer own, save the money b/c you obviously are not enticed.

Nah, perfect for toilet reading. Autoweek is one of the greatest deals around. Think about it 52 magazines a year for $20. Plus the bonus racing and new car edition.

My thoughts exactly.

After 3 years subscribing, my synopsis:

Pretty good columnists, good coverage of autoshows, good coverage of industry news, decent coverage of euro market, poor road-test comparisons, not as much of a bmw-pimp as the other mags, more of a detroit-pimp than the other mags, spectacular coverage of the racing scene.

I know I'm leaving stuff out but thats what I can think of off the top of my head.
