autovation pedals

Just got my pedals from autovation, pretty happy with the size and feel, but the finish is kinda crappy, I got the matte finish and all 3 pedals seem to have a lot of imperfections, just curious if any else has made the same observation. seems like for 80 bucks the finish should be neater

I was seriously considering these pedals for my next mod... but after seeing what you received, I'm no longer interested... UNLESS... they really clean up their quality... looks really sh*ty... shows they don't pay attention to detail or quality... not the kind of place I would want to do business with...

I got mine, they look much better then that. I would call up Jeff or e-mail him and ask hime to send you another set and a UPS return order so you can return the ones you have now. Mine have some imperfections, but the "TYPE S" looks much better on mine.

mine have imperfections too, but nothing you can see from more than 2 feet away. in all fairness, this is an extreme closeup.

When engraving, into aluminum especially, (which is basically what this is) Youre going to see some burr marks where the router or bit passed

I have a question for those who have them. Do your feet slip on them when wet?

I agree with the masses... if you like the pedals, get them. The imperfections are so minor that unless someone is on your floor with a flashlight 4-6 inches from the pedals, they will not see them.

In addition, mine did not have as many marks as yours... but each is probably slightly different depending on a number of factors.

No slipping whatsoever (on the brake and clutch covers). The raised holes have a square edge and this gives you some grip.

I agree, with a close up the router marks are easily seen, however these are also easily seen on the pictures that they post online, so I don't think there's any false advertising here. I had a good idea what I was getting before I got it.

You cannot see those router marks in the dim light near the pedal area. You especially cannot see those marks when your feet are on top of the covers. Compared to the market out there, I think these are a great product. The only other one I would consider is the Mugen which comes with a significantly higher price.

i love the crisp feeling with these pedals. like slimey said, there is no slipping whatsoever. the grip on clutch and brake is much better than stock. the gas pedal is made smooth for the ease of heel-toe driving. the stock pedals used to slip and make squeaky noise when your shoe soles are wet. but not with these things. thanks for organizing the group buy, btw.

I did the prototyping and initial trailblazing, but I think you have to credit JakeCL with the group buy.

Other than the bitch of a time i had installing these on my auto 03, they look and feel great! If you really don't like them like the others said try to get a hold of jeff. I e-mail him directly with some concerns and he responded right away. Maybe you could get a new set if you are that unhappy
