On July 21st there is going to be an auto cross at the HPA (Houston Police Academy). $25 if you help, $40 if you don't help. They have loaner helmets if you don't have a 1990 Snell helmet or better.

I've autocrossed my CL-S in about 4 or 5 SCCA-sanctioned SOLO2 events. I had a blast, but the category (G Stock) is filled with Preludes, Accords (which do surprisingly well on competition tires and light rims!), and a few other cars.
Main things to remember? Turn VSA off. All inputs need to be smooth. "squeeze" the throttle, and break HARD in a straight line. When a curve comes in, go into it wide, and come out of the apex tight.
Other than that, have a blast! It's all fun afterall! If you want to be competetive, get another car - maybe an early model Miata? (they are in a lighter class than the new ones because of the smaller engine).
