Auto door locks???

Last night I started my CL-S with the headlights on with the doors unlocked and the car mysteriously locked both doors automatically when I started the engine. I tried it with the lights off and the car did not lock itself automatically. Then I tried it again (to see if I was crazy) with the lights on again and the car locked itself. Did I miss this unusual feature in the manual????

Would someone try this and see if it occurs in all CL's or is my car possessed?

Maybe you have a aftermarket add on alarm with a shock sensor and etc.

Nope, I'm now thinking it has something to do with the fact the car locks itself if you unlock it and don't open a door--it may have been a 2 in a million coincidence.

certain german cars are known to unlock themselves in the even of a rollover or airbag deployment, perhaps there are other such systems at work in the acura?

Hey my car does the same exact thing, if I leave the head lights on It turns then off and it locks it self after like 1 or 2 minutes.

Close, but my car locked itself at the EXACT same time I started the engine with the headlights on; although I think that self locking feature you described has something to do with it, but that feature works whether the headlights are on or not. It was just weird since I've had the car 4 years and and it never locked itself before when I started the engine; but it always has locked itself if no door is opened after unlocking it like you described.

my car does turn the head lights off by itself, haven't checked about the locks though.

All of the Gen II CL’s do this for the headlights, but I’ve never heard of the locks doing it without some kind of aftermarket alarm on there.

The only way it locks itself automatically is if you unlock with the remote and then “forget” to open the driver’s side door.
The car will lock itself back up after about 30 seconds.
