Auto 6spd cost
I know this has been talked about over and over but here we go again There are a # of questions I have so
1st how much is it going to cost me for my automatic transmission of my 01 CLS?
2nd How much is it to swap a 6spd in?
3rd did that guy get the harness working for the swap?
People keep saying that is way more expensive to do the swap just by a 03 6spd but
my car has about 160k on it and I plan on driving it untill it is dead so im thinking at least 100k and from what I have read im probably looking at 3 AT transmissions. If I do the swap that well be it no more trans problems (I think thats correct) so in the long run I think the 6 mt would be more cost effective?
BTWif the autotrans is cheap im going with that but if im going to have to borrow money and its like 1.5 times as expensive then im going with the 6mt(that and I love standard)
Oh and I dont know if I mentioned this but my trans is about to go any second

The clutchmasters clutch and flywheel combo is $1100. (if you're doing it, do it right)
You MIGHT be able to find a good trans for $750.
ECU, Wiring, Linkage, shifter, cables, sensors, motion parts, etc. - $2000
Labor? Shipping?
I'd be surprised if you could pull this for for less than $5000 US without some extremely good deals.....

Thats not bad even if it were $6000
Because I heard someone say that the auto was going to cost 4000
I mean yeah its more expensive but if you think about it by the time I put 100'000 miles on it im probably going to go throught 2 if not 3 transmissions, auto that is so thats 8-12k. (I read somwhere that a auto trans rebuilt only lasted 37k)
not to mention I think im speaking for everyone when I say I love to drive standard.
BTW I put it up for sale locally but Im still on the fence and I put it for a thousand cad over what the average is so well see

Swaps can be never ending shit...if you have 6k:
Save it.
Pay less than 1000 to fix it auto.
Save up 2500
And just buy a no-swap 6spd for around 7000 or probably low 6Ks next year.
No swap hassle and will drive forever.

Even its 2450 like others have said, I wouldnt invest 6k in 6spd swap when u can buy a 6spd car for around 7k...if you can sell it, SELL IT! We say sell it bcs we know your auto tranny problems will never go away. So if you can find some one to take it off your hands DO IT! And then buy a 6spd!!!

So you say you want to keep the car till it dies? Doesn't a blown trans classify as a dead car?
Why go through all the expense & hassle. The car does have 160K miles. From experience with hign miles cars, it's really a waste to try & keep a high mile older car running.
It's time to let it go.

Werd. Not worth the hassle. And really not worth paying someone to do it for you. You'll spend more then you could to buy a 6-speed CL.

Auto trans new, 3-4k
6mt swap, new or used parts, 3.5- 4.5k
The guy live not far from me and he has the harness working on his 7th and 6th gen accords. He still hasn't mass produced them. If u buy his harness u can save about 1k but the harness will cost around $500.
