I hear there are only 3 ACURA dealers in the US that are authorized Comptech parts/install dealers.

I have one here in Bellevue, WA.
Anyone know if that's true?

Hmmm.... I dont know if that is true or not, the acura dealership where I bought my car from doesnt know sh*t about anything! I wouldnt be suprised if only 3 exist!

I recall someone here saying that McDavid said they would only install the springs. That doesn't sound too promising to me. Have you had any experience with them?? I know when I was there they have Comptech ad stuff in the service area.

My dealer, Ray Laks Acura (Buffalo, NY) installs Comptech parts. I do not know if that means the dealer is authorized to do so.

Hey Smoothie-

DMD Acura is my dealership also, being from Plano and all...

I got quotes from them. They are as follows:

Springs -
$300 - material
$655 - labor/alignment

Headers -
$1100 - material
$315 - labor

These are quotes from Sean Ima (a Service Advisor), written on his business card from when I got my last oil change, which was less than 1 month ago.

They seem quite high to me for the install costs. I will look around after I eventually get the material.

Avengerjr is right on with the numbers. I didn't get my springs installed there, only my headers. From what I can tell, they did a good job.

Pleasanton Acura. Big ol banner in the parts dept. They also have a binder full of Comptech parts and prices for install. They had a black ctech lowered, swayed, exhaust'd, koni'd, and header'd Type S for about 5k more than msrp. Maybe a little more.

Called my dealer in middle Tennessee (Gary Force Acura) and they informed that one mechanic in the shop is the whiz kid with mods, turbos etc. on NSX and other Acuras. However I'm still waiting for a call back on what they charge for the install. Been 2 days!@&**^? They tell me that warranty is not a problem.

Any auto shop with a spring compressor can do the job. I took the back seat out myself to save 50 and keep them from making it dirty. Total job cost me was $200. I then got a $75 alignment at the dealer. Next time I will do it myself because I watched them and couldn't believe how easy it is. Acura wanted 450.

$315 for the headers actually sounds kind of reasonable to me. But $655 for the damn springs!!!! WTF! I may call my service advisor there, Robert Butler, and get a quote just for shits&giggles. I may have to bring it in soon for some rattles that are driving me CRAZY!!!

I just got off the phone w/David McDavid. I made an appointment for Monday morning to have my rattles checked out and asked what they charge for headers/springs install. I was quoted $260 for headers and $480 for springs!! Seems like there is NO consistency at all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my rattles don't decide to hide on Monday

Damn!! That is a lot better than I was quoted:

Headers-
$1015 + $260 = $1275

Springs-
$300 + $480 = $780

I am definitely going with you guy!!!! Who did you talk to and can you get that in writing when you go on Monday?

Then we can hook up and I can get a copy and go to them and say look, this is what you will charge one guy but not another and bitch and whine until I get my way!

Sunnyside Acura in Nashua, NH said they'd install the components, but I never got a quote and never looked into it all that much.

i called and talked to a guy named Dustin. when i asked him about the install quotes i heard him asking someone else there how many hours something or other (couldn't hear everyhting clearly). So if you want I suggest calling today and asking for Dustin and getting the same quote. I don't think I'm gonna be doing the headers/springs anytime soon. Maybe if I get a nice refund from the IRS. Good luck and let me know what happens!!

hey guys found out that any acura dealer can deal with comptech by just calling a number, so that gives the dealership opportunity to purchase parts through comptech but no one is a comptech authorized dealer. There is no such thing

Since Keyes Acura sells Comptech parts, does that mean I'll be safe having them put them on? Anyone try Keyes? They send me flyers with Comptech discounts and specials.
