There are three fan switches on the 5AT. However, the only one to care about for this is the one on the T-Stat housing.

Ok I put my stuff on Thanksgiving morning. Took about 1.5 hours. It wasn't very hard, but It was a pain for me. I though it would be easier to take the fan switch off after I took the theromstat housing out, but the damn thing wouldn't come off. So I put it back in, took my open end wrench & it broke loose. Then had to take out the housing again. Next, I had a bitch of a time getting the stock thermostat out. It was stuck in there very good. Next I tried to fit the Mugen stat in, & the gasket was too big, I couldn't get the housing back on. So I just used the one off the stock T-stat. Is that ok to do?? I hope it was the correct t-stat. It had the same part # as posted. It fit fine. I used a bottle of water wetter as well, & added some more water to the system since I lost a bit of coolant in this process.

All done here also. It does seem as if the temp gauge is a notch lower. The heat gets plenty hot now at 40* outside. We'll see around Jan/Feb how well it heats up. I hate antifreeze,.... slimey crap. :shakehd:

If I had any balls I would have bypassed the throttle body coolant lines also. Maybe when the TB goes out to be opened up.

What's the purpose of coolant lines in the throttle body anyhow?

To help heat the air at idle for emission and warms the TB to prevent sticking due to frost.

This mod might keep the trans cooler also. Engine coolant is used to warm up the trans fluid,....although it may head to the trans cooler after that. Hmm,...
