The factory does use a spring noise damper on the springs but this thing is very thinand would not accomplish anything like what you need to have done. Here is what I would suggest. The front struts are attached with two 14mm nuts on top you could obtain some plain steel or better aluminium plate and cut two spacers to be placed inbetween the strut tower and the upper strut perch.Essentially this would be like a large washer.I think you may have just enough stud on top of the strut perch to accomodate a spacer of the thickness you are looking for but let me check it out at work.Doubling up on the front upper strut perch rubbers where the spring meets the perch is risky as the possibility exists that the spring may squeeze out of the mount.Jens

Type R alright here is what happened to me today,a customer brought his TL in to have it lowered with H&R springs the claimed drop was to be .5 front .75 rear.I was tremendously busy today so I did not get a chance to measure the car but the drop on educated eyeball guess looked more like 1.0 front 1.25 rear.Although the drop did almost level the car it was far more than the customer expected (he supplied the springs). After speaking with the customer about this he told me that the springs were really supposed to be for an Accord.H&R seems to be selling these springs under the smae part number to fit the TL and quite possibly the CL as well.So beware the drop is alot more than you bargain for.I looked at the possibilty of installing a spacer into front suspension but I think to go more than a quarter of an inch between the strut mount and strut tower would be excessive as the strut mounting studs are not long enough to accomodate more.Next chance I get I will investigate this some more to see what can be done.Jens

JENS i really appreciate your help as far as H&R the o.e.'s were developed for the TL and fit accord the web site at H&R says .75 front .50 rear but on a cl i think the rear wont drop the whole .50 cause the cl is 26 lbs lighter and will be more like 1.0 on the front where the cl is 44lbs heavier these weight s are approx...i did speak directly to a tech at H&R and two different people there told me the tl was the test vehical...im sold on the comptechs if i can cost effectively get the front back to the same drop as rear now with the TL-S coming out which is even heavier than our cl typeS maybe these companies will come up with a beefed up version of there products my proble is i dont know whats a big weight difference and how cars will react to them i mean is 44 lbs up front much? if not why does the car rake soo much???

The springs I installed were the H&R OE springs which was the surprising part. The drop of 1.0 frt 1.25 rear(educated guess here)was with about a half tank of gas no passengers.44 pounds is relatively little so I would not expect it to show in ride height. The rake may in part be for aerodynamic reasons and also for reasons relating to how quickly in other words how aggressively the rear suspension tilts the wheels when it is compressed. You will notice most of the people that have posted their alignment specs showed that the front suspension required a toe adjustment and that was all.But the rear suspension even on mild lowering almost always pushed the camber to the edge of acceptable. So it may be possible that the spring makers are doing what they can without pushing the limits of the rear camber.Mind you this is just my guess.meantime I will continue to look into this.Jens

will anyone make springs and sways specifically for the weight and performance of the CL???? or is it too much R&D expense vs. potential sales
