I just bought new rotors, see threads in Car Talk. All dimensions are the same except diameter. The ones I bought are only 11 inches. Stock is 11.8. will the .8 inches make a big difference?

.4 is not much Bioyuki.here's what you do.Test install them what you need to look for is that the brake pads fully contact the surface of the rotor. In other words the pad should not overhang the edge of the rotor on either the outer edge nor the inner edge.Verify this both on the inside surface of the rotor as well as on the outside .Why are these rotors a bit smaller? Aftermarket?I did not follow your thread about rotors (sorry I thought Wayne had it and he thought I had it)Jens

Allright I'll try it, and its a .8 inch difference not .4. Yeah they're aftermarket, Brembo blanks that were drilled and slotted by the third party.

Jens means that .8" difference in the diameter is only .4" difference in the radius.

Oh yes another question. When rotor specs say 11.8 x 1.1 (width), how is that/where is it measured?

Bioyuki, you have it correct the brake pad must be fully in contact with the rotor.as shown in your first picture. The 11.8 inch measurement represents the rotors actual diameter as measured through the centerline of the rotor. The 1.1 inch width measurement is the thickness of the rotor as measured through the actual braking portion of the rotor(where the brake pads contact the rotor). The width of the rotor is only valid as a measurement when the rotor is new .Naturally as the rotor wears it will begin to get thinner.jens
