Hi,

I was told on the TL board to ask you this. I would apprecitate any help given.

I want to know how I can install type s seats onto a 99 TL.

The wiring harness is different can something be done?

How hard is it to install.

Where and how much?

the srs connector might be different...if so I highly don't recommend splicing it to fit...the other connector should be fine and fit normally because both seats are 8 way powered and heated...they should also bolt up the same...I just can't remember if the srs connector is the same...funny I just did a seat track on a tl-s yesturday...

Does the 99TL have the memory seating? And if not, is that an issue as well?

Ant the 99 does not use side bags so no worries on the SRS connector .
TLNY the seats are quite different in function in respect to the seat motors .However if you are handy with electrical work you ought to be able to get the seats to work (minus the memory function) .Seat motors are still just motors nothing fancy .You will need some creativity to get the wiring and plugs to work but it should be an easy thing to do .The seat heaters are also a bit different on the passenger seat .Here I would suggest you deep six the side bags that will come with the S seats and also remove the covering on the seat bottom and remove the OPDS sensor array .After this is done you can install a regualr seat heater pad from a 99 TL and wire it up to work .Your biggest problem will mostly be getting the plugs to work so you may need a bit of talent in that area .
Overall it sounds like a cool mod and the S seat are quite a bit more comfortable .You will also have to swap safety belt buckles over as the plugs on that are different to but this is just a question of removing them from your stock seats and bolting them up to the S seats .

I am in NY but I can go somewhere near by like NJ or something.

I just need the front seats installed. That is all.
I just want the heated seats and the adjustable seat working I know the memory seat won't work cause the 99 does not come with it.

make sure that if you do this...remember to use your 99 seat belt buckles...
