Attempted HiJacking of my CLS

This morning when I came out at 5:40am for work, I unlock my car as usual with my keys/alarm...Got in the car, found my car compartments all opened, my car manual thrown out, my wiring underneath the glove compartment was all ripped apart, and then I tried to run the car but the engine was stalled... looks like they tried to get to the ECU chip....

Tons of CDs stolen, a camera, my $5.00 MP3 wiring, and my cheap $9.00 sunglasses from Staples were also gone.

Luckily I had nothing valuable in there and my glove compartment was unlocked so they didn't have to tamper with it. Nothing else seems to be missing and the ignition wasn't tampered with....The exterior of the car is in the exact same condition I had left it the night before, no windows broken, nothing tampered with the locks, let's just say no signs of a break in from the outside..

Made a police report...waited for 1.5 hours before two "dumb" police officers came and told me I had left my car unlocked so that's why the thieves were able to come in...I swear I always lock my car and it always makes a beep sound when I lock it...if I left my car unlocked then all they would've done was just take all the things out..why did they care to remove all the wiring from there?...

Also it looks like they were "spooked" out by someone/something cause they flew the scene leaving a universal pliers....turned that over to the police...don't believe they can do anything.

Beware if you are in the Richmond District...or San Francisco with your Acuras...

maybe they were trying to hook you up with an ECU upgrade as part of a surprise or soemthing, lol. Funny, dumb cops are usually your friends from Highschool who got shitty grades.

Alarm should have gone off. Check to see if it works. I've been seeing more and more of this poping up here

It's the original alarm from Acura, it works...if you try to open the door and the door is locked, the horn will go off---seems to me like this guy had a another "preprogrammed" controller...maybe a tool to configure a "master entry" control unlocking device??...not sure...but it's true.

That sucks. But I would have pointed out to the cops that the doors automatically lock after 30 (or is it 60?) seconds.

Fucking retards (the cops and the person who did this).

just cut the wire hook one end to the switch and the other, then from the switch to the other end where u cut the wire. i would do that to the ecu. most ppl will look down to see if that has been done and just follow the wires or jump the switch. if u do that to th ecu (forgot what wire) it will be much harder to figure out.

Better find a way to try to immobilize your vehicle for the moment, you should really check out the other stolen, then stolen again thread.

Dont theifs use signal catcher devices to catch your remotes singnal to get into to you car after your gone. I really dont see much bennefit from a theif targeting a cl for theft. Not really a high price ride or that sought after besides by us the owners. But I would watch out for possible civic swapers eyeballing your ride, they would be the only one's I would think that would have intrest in the theft of our rides.

That was a trick years back but now all remotes are with dynamic code change and catching with scaner remote frequency and last code will do nothing.

After this happened, I hid my car....at least for now until I figure out how I am going to prevent it from getting stolen...like others have suggested...boobie trap...illegal, but who knows unless you try to steal it right??...Then it'd be illegal to steal after all isn't it?...I was thinking of finding a way to immobilize it regardless of they try to rewire the ECU...it's funny since I just read the other guy's CL being stolen 1 week before mine got hijacked....his was found in the sunset district and mine was in the Richmond district of San Fran...the locations are like 15 miles apart....we'll see what other CLs in the area (if any) get stolen.

Sorry to see this happen...
It's kind of scary. I've seen a lot of reports come up recently about many different types of cars being broken into with no signs of damage to the car or anything. Also, it's strange the alarm didn't go off either. I find Acura alarms to be over-sensitive. They must've knew what they were doing.

When I got my car back the first time it didn't look like that on the passenger side. You must have had different people. My ECU box was bent open and only the immobilizer chip was missing... no wires hanging there at all. And when I got it back I could start and drive my car.

These guys were not as sophisticated as the ones who ripped off my ride.

for now...I don't know if I should spend $$$ for AuToLoc (the one for the Brake) or a new aftermarket alarm. Any suggestion? (will have a kill switch install this week)

I think the best way is LoJack. If they want your car, they will get it. LoJack can at least help you track it.
