Looks like the tips are welded on, so I'm guessing it would be hard to swap out the plain inner tip for a perforated one?

There's plenty of videos/reviews of the ATLP exhaust for the 2G TL, but I'll throw in my about HT's first batch when I install mine.

Other than the tips, has anything else changed now that you're making them, HT?

So what you are telling me is that if I can get enough interest in an atlp exhaust for the 8th gen accord v6 that it will become available?? How much interest and deposits would you need for something like this to happen? Since I really want it I will garner the interest. Let me know please.

Yea it is not going to be changeable later... not other changes were made though. The tip move probably was going to happen with or without me getting involved.

Basically yes, although there are a few steps between "getting interest" and "becoming available." We need a test car, set up an R&D time, do some dyno tests, sound tests, then once w finalize a design we need to make tooling, then look for some deposits/preorders. Produce parts then ship! We'd like to see 10 people.

I might be down for this setup depending on final cost, appearance and sound but I need to really like it to get it. Im content with my current setup.

I would be interested in this system, I was just looking into buy the comptech parts separate, but sounds like this system would be same quality and fitment. Also the sound doesn't stray to far from that lovely Quiet Until You Need It dynamic the stock system has. On that note, put me down for interested. I am just curious what a tentative time frame is for something like this, I have never GB before.

+1

is it possible to make a direct fit for the b-pipe only for the cls. i'm sure we can get at least ten if the price is right.

preferably 2.5" piping

Asking him to make a y/b pipe dsn't really make alot of sense and detracts from this thread and getting the catback made. Just buy this exhaust and sell the mufflers you have now, that is what I will do. The mufflers made for our car have 2" piping, so why would you want to keep them when you are changing the exhaust to 2.5" and 2.25" after the split. Then the muffler piping would be 2" and not match up.

If you just want a b/y pipe to match up to comptech mufflers then just look for the comptech pipe used or get custom one made.

Agreed! I am extremely interested in this after reading up and checking out various videos and user reviews of other ATLP exhaust users.

It seems to be the only system with decent gains vs. their cost for these cars.
Almost double comptech's gains and way less than double the cost.

Im with Brian as well. Lets not complicate things, thats when these feeler threads begin to fall apart.

That said, I would prefer a different tip on the mufflers though, but I may be in the minority on that. It would be sweet if the TL-S quads would fit on the CL (or something similar). Just something to set this apart from the other exhaust setups on the market.

I understand completely. I have already posted on 2 8th gen forums with one getting deleted because it's not a feeler thread posted by a sponsor vendor. anyways perhaps if you yourself post something on my8thgen. Com or drive accord. Net we can certainly make this happen. I know we can get 10 deposits.

what is the timeframe we would have to get the deposit down if it's decided this will actually happen?

Yeah, the round ATLP tips fit the TL well since the bumper openings are round. Since the CL opening is elongated it would be nice to have something that fit the space. Either stock style or maybe small quad tips would match. Seems as if too many times aftermarket looks more like an afterthought.

I like small round tips like on comptech or atlp for the tl. Anything else would not look right. I also dont want stock tips welded on. Just keep it how it is and get it made sooner than later.

I'm kind of disappointed in the plain tip style, but apparently the perforated inner tips were phased out.

These are what the new tips look like:

Compared to:

Also, mine came with a little bit of crap on the inside:

The crud on the inside was there when I opened it, so I'm not sure if I should clean it? I probably will soon, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't there to protect the tip or anything. HT, is it OK to wipe out the stuff on the inside of the tip?

Other than the tips, I've gotta say that this exhaust is flawless. Fitment was perfect as well. I called my exhaust shop for an estimate, and he said $60 to $80 depending on difficulty. He ended up charging me only $50 because it was so simple.

Sound is amazing as well, just as other video reviews have stated. Go to youtube and search for "2G ATLP" and you'll see some sound clips. They're pretty accurate. It's a little louder and deeper in real life though.

Another MAJOR complaint of mine is a little more serious. I strongly recommend you reconsider buying this exhaust after hearing this. Get ready to be blown away... It doesn't come with an ATLP sticker. I mean WTF?! Half the reason I bought the exhaust was for the sticker!

But more seriously, you won't regret buying the exhaust. I'm pretty sure it's the best you can get.

HEELTOE quick question before I put down for the GB, do the exhaust tips really stick that far out like in the picture, or will they sit closer to flush with the bumper? Thanks.

Don't use my pics of the new tips as a reference. That angle was taken to capture the ATLP logo, so it might not be a good representation. I'll see if I can get a better pic.

Thank You. Don't mean to sound vain but I hate exhausts that stick super far from the bumper. It is unsightly.

As you can see it doesn't protrude past the bumper, but it's not trying to hide or anything.

(The chemicals are just for my N-methyl-1-phenylpropan-2-amine business)

Compared to the advertised picture, I'd say it's spot on:

Step 1) get list
Step 2) collect initial deposits (probably something like $200 each)
Step 3) get car over to fab for work-up, make part
Step 4) make fixture to make "copies" for the system
Step 5) production
Step 6) shipping!

So, a lot of this is time dependant. It is going to be a few months at least I expect before shipping. Right now, it is open-ended. Since sometimes these projects get drawn out without much progress I am trying to make due with more frequent, small steps this time.

Great, Thanks for the quick reply! I had kind of assumed this would be a "For Next Summer" type of thing as I've read the thread and knew where things were at. So I just need to know when it is deposit time and then wait it out pretty much. Wooo! I'm pumped!

I do have plans to boost in the future. I know the 2.5" diameter is a little small, but could I still get by with this ATLP exhaust if I am pushing 350 to 400 whp?

He wanted ~7 for the TL exhaust. I'd be willing to guess it would be similar for this.

I don't think he's going to be willing to do a 3" exhaust. That would be a lot more R&D to keep a minimal amount of drone. Such a large diameter exhaust will have some serious amount of drone.
