I'd love to see it done in CF... It would look dope on darker colors I think.

mine are currently being body color matched.

nate Im thinking of doing it Scooter gave me the idea but I haven't it seen anywhere. The reason is because my stock lights are fogging so bad that you see droplets inside my headlights. So if Acura doesn't replace the heads maybe the carbon fiber idea is not a bad choice.

These are the choices

stock with the clear diffusers

the 03' headlights as is

carbon fibered headlights with the clear diffusers

Lou, I would do CF without a doubt, but it is going to cost BIG.

First, how is it being done? Vinyl, Paint, or a "Real" CF custom cover. Painted might work best, but Arron (4Pumped) paid like $400-500 to apply it to the engine cover. Scooter, I believe you went Vinyl on the cover... still pretty high was it not, and could it be formed and cut easily on to the lights? As far as a real CF cover being produced, well lets just say that this process will probably cost more than the Lights/ HIDs total worth

yeah, it would be look hella pimp.....but dont compare it to the BMW lights. We dont have projector headlights, so covering the reflective part would be kind of wierd.

Is there any way to put projectors in the CL?? I have seen many for the Accords........but not a single for the CL. Any ideas?

This would be a great mod but using real carbon-fiber the expense would make simply unrealistic. If I had connections with somebody who does this and can get a group-buy than maybe it can be an option. The BMW carbon fiber casing cost $400 per side thats a little too much if you ask me. I can get the 03' headlights for $320 both and from far the carbon fiber and the 03' look the same to me.

Why would it look wierd the actual reflectors rest behind the covers, the 03 CL ditched the plastc chrome look and the lights don't look that wierd to me.

$400 per side....that fucking ridiculous. I was offered by a PROFESSIONAL installer to CF (real, not vinyl) all of the fake wood/bowling ball pieces inside the care for only $300. And I saw some of his work.......the CF looks like glass!

How hard can it be to make a fiberglass mold of the headlight, and lay CF?

Lou: Go with the 03's if you like the look, I could only justify making custom CF covers if your building the CL into a "showcar" or something. On the street, hardly anyone will see the diff. between CF and charcoal color 03's IMO.

Or, wait to see what my Nighthawk painted 01's come to look like

Hey Lou, but I'm not that far from going crazy
Good thing I've been busy with work and away last weekend.

Contact Jeff (producing the diffusers) for more details on cost ( ClearLens@Houston.rr.com ). Last I heard he was preparing to send them off to an Acura bodyshop for paint.
