So if I stick to oem, I have to find a CL specific ballast? (just making sure)

if you don't want to make any mods or customizations to your headlights then you have to use the oem cl ballast...the oem ballast mounts directly underneath the headlight housing and the bulb is connected directly to the ignitor...difficult to explain...any type of h.i.d. ballast and bulbs can be used you just have to make it fit and work to our cars...can be done and not difficult at all...
i just don't want you to think that the tl ballast will fit right in...not the same...and our ballasts seem to be more expensive for some reason

It only takes an extra 20 minutes to do an aftermarket one as opposed to OEM

And I believe it a early 2nd gen TL one

BTW I would never go with a used ballast you never know whats wrong with it or how old it is, go after market !!

Yea I'm aware I could go aftermarket...but wouldnt that require me splicing wires and such ? I'm not too good with wiring things, so I was trying to avoid that by sticking to the old plug and play oem ballast...

I'm sure I could do it, I think I'll take a look at that write up if no ballasts pop up for around 70ish bucks.
