Don't do it...they are be investigated on charges of fraud right now...if you want to find a shop that can work on your trannys....ask Dynamic motorsports or Comptech...they might be able to point in the direction of a tranny specialists.

BTW, the ideal stall speed would be about 3200-3500...right before or at peak torque.

You could get any number of different stall speeds.

I am concerned about what moomaster_99 mentioned -- once you make the step, say goodbye to the warranty on the current converter.

Some other notes -- I've noticed that my torque converter goes into partial lockup in 3rd (going up hills) under full throttle. The tach needle jumps from 5k to 6K and then stays there until 6K (once 6K rpms is exceeded, it seems to lock back up until fuel cut-off).
Some people with the L10 torque converter (and stall speed) change notice the car slamming into the rev limiter.

I would sure hate to be running up a hill and have the revs jump to 7200 and make me let off the throttle (killing the acceleration)…

IMO -- there are some quality and operation issues that need to be addressed. As long as there is a cloud hanging over Level-10, can they be trusted as an honest broker of information?

artcarr.com has been around for years and though he has moved from So.Cal to Texas there are some hipo shops that will install his tranny upgrades. There is more info on this on !

I think it's just their "rebuilt" transmissions which are bogus?
mchondubs had the L10 torque converter, and he liked it I think?

I don't know but here is how u calculate stall speed for each gear. Hold the car in gear with the brakes and rev the engine until it doesnt go up anymore or the car overpowers the brakes. That's your stall speed.

I'm curious, who all had this problem? I had never heard of that before.

Typically if you get an aftermarket TC, you want your stall speed to be HIGHER than stock stall speed. This should help you launch closer to engines max torque.

In the Accord, the stall speed is typically b/w 2,100-2,200 rpms.

Geaux4it, (Ryan) had his stall speed set to b/w 2,500-2,800 rpms I believe. I don't believe he has had any problems with his, and he's had it installed for almost a year now.
