Anyone have rubbing problems with 235/40/18 & Comptech drop ???

I’m currently running 225/40 and have never rubbed, but I’m looking to go 235/40 for my next set of rubber.
I rarely have passengers in the back seat, but I do load the trunk up to capacity when I go on driving vacations.
I’m getting conflicting info from several of the tire dealers I talked to.
Some are much more conservative then others and don’t recommend this size.

My wheels are 18”-7.5 wide with +48 Offset.
My calculator & “finger scale” say it will work, but I’m just looking for info from someone who’s running a similar setup.

Thanks,
Shawn S

You should be fine. I had 18X7.5 +42 with that size & only rubbed on some big holes or dips. So a +48 should clear no problems.

I also was debating this issue between 225 and 235, I decided that I didnt want to incur any potiential problem/rubbing on the wheels so I went with the 225/40zr18 yoko parada spec II's, no rubbing at all!! not worth the hassle for 1/2 to inch of more rubber!! good luck with your choice!

just my $0.02

The Toyo Proxes 4 is the leading contender right now.

should be good ...

Hey,

I have 18x7.5 +48 rims along with Pirelli 235/40/18 ... fit on Astroboy's TL-S with Zeals dropped as low as you can go. I've got the CT drop ... I have no worries about rubbing. You should have no problems rubbing.
