Anyone have a repainted rear bumper?

Hey Guys:

I have some scuffs and spider cracks in my paint on my rear bumper from various little bumps from parking, etc. Has anyone had their rear bumper cover re-painted...if so, what should I expect to pay for this? My car is silver...can they just rip the cover off and let me keep the car during repainting? That would sure make me more apt to rush out and do it now. Thanks for any info. you got!!!

Damn!! That's pretty steep...I was thinking like 200 bucks tops. Did they have to do anything to your accord bumper other than paint? Like, did they have to fill holes, dents? Mine just needs a quick sand, paint, and clearcoat. I hope it's not that much!!

Well, there was a minor dent repair with that. It really would depend where you went to do it though. This was done by an expensive (overpriced?) dealer, but it came out perfect. Remember that you want it to match very well

I got a brand new front bumper, and the rear one was simply repainted. 800 bucks total.

I had BOTH bumpers repainted by the dealer (subcontractor I think) for $230. I couldn't tell the difference when they were done.

My '03 was just rear ended (see my Major Bummer thread) and the estimated cost for the rear bumper is:

$240.95 for bumper cover
$163.80 for paint labor (3.9 hours @ $42/hour)
$46.20 for body labor (1.1 hours @ $42/hours)

Total: $450.95 to replace & paint rear bumper at Ardmore Acura Collision in PA. About $200 for paint alone.

I brought it to the shop today :'(

I feel your pain...I just hope you didn't have to pay out of pocket for that.
