Anyone with comptech axleback minus b-pipe resonator?

Hi all,

I just posted the comptech axleback vs. catback sound thread and I concluded that it wouldn't be worth it for me to pick up a b-pipe, although the sound made is pretty sweet from the clips provided (thank you to those who provided 'em).

So a question to those who have removed their resonators.

I love how it sounds with the magnaflows that a lot of us are running on here.

I'm just curious as to whether anyone has removed the resonator with the comptechs. If you have and have video or sound clips, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Or if anyone has gone back and forth between resonator and no resonator, I'd love to hear your experience on what kind of sound changes occurred (lower tone? louder drone?)

I'm looking to open up the sound of the comptechs to give it a more 'hollow' feel.

for a possible follow up question....

those with comptech silencers.. how much would you say they reduce the sound of the exhaust? 50%? 75%? 100%?

I don't have an aftermarket exhaust (yet) but yesterday I did just install my test pipe and had the resonator removed. In short with the test pipe it was great. With the resonator removed it sounds like shit. Like a nasty civic. Would not recommend it. The only time it really sounds good is at 60mph and up. Neadless to say, I will be back at the shop getting a resonator reinstalled and have the install some magnaflows with probably some 2.5in pipe all the way. Don't know if this help as I am S/C and IC so that might also make a difference. CLinton

i have the comptech exhaust with pre-muffler removed. definately louder, and more aggresive BUT there is a raspy sound under WOT between 2-4k rpms.

I am trying to figure a way to remove this.
