Anyone change their sparkplugs around 30k
Curious how long stock sparkplugs tend to last.
Some cars want them changed around 30k, but our manual doesn't say that. Think it's worth doing? Any idea how much new OEM ones cost? Would it be more cost effective to just upgrade to those "iridium" ones some people installed last year?

Don't do it.
The stock plugs (platinum) last MUCH longer than the older copper plugs with no degradation in performance. Modern cars with the computerized engine management systems do not need the tune ups and parts replacement like older cars. Gee, I really miss changing points, plugs and timing every 8-10K. NOT!
Changing the heat range is a really bad idea. The engine management system is designed for the heat range of the stock plugs. Unless you change the computer you will most likely just screw everything up. In the worst case it could lead to serious engine damage.

Well, with COP like the Acura's, the subject of changing wires is irrelevant. Shouldn't have to mess with stock plugs untill the 60k timing belt change if your running a stock to slightly modded engine.
