Anyone adjust the valves yourself? Tips?

Have printouts from Mitchell-on-Demand.
Think a newbie mechanic like me can go it alone? Actually I'm not a mechanic, just going to follow directions.
Tips? Surprises the book does not list? Found a service manual that is better then others?

Everything got to be taken off like they show in the photos in order to get to the valves? Reason i ask is they list it as a 4 hour job but some posters have said their non dealer mechanics have banged it out for $120. Figure either they are giving them a deal or getting it done in much less time, like say 2 - 2 1/2 hours, maybe less.

if you have not done precision mechanical work, I wouldnt mess with it. This is what I was told by someone on here who just did it themselves...

artbran, Thanks for that warning. For that reason, I'm soliciting having a vet mech, at least a vet valve adjustment mech on hand for that very purpose. Offering pizza, tequila and beer.

Its really not that hard. Especially if you have the manual or instructions. All you really need is a set of feeler gages and some metric tools.

I've done it a few times, its not bad, sometimes it takes a few repeats, if your new at it, you have to have a feel for it.
