Anybody use Octane Boost?

Anybody in a crappy gas state like California use octane boost? If so which one do you recommend. I'm too lazy to drive 20 miles and pay a premium for some racing fuel.

Thoughts?

I have used many, many kinds in my 99 TL. I have used : Outlaw, STP octane booster, some other off-road stuff and a few others. I use it about every 4th or 5th tank and I use fuel injector cleaner (STP - black bottle) every oil change.
It keeps my motor purring like a sweet little kitten

Hope this helps

When I bought my supercharger for my truck, the guys who sold it to me said the stuff works. They recommended the stuff from NOS, or another high end brand. They claimed the cheaper stuff (104+, etc) was really hard on the fuel system.

Of course, it was third hand info, but the NOS stuff isn't much more money, so I just buy it when I need it.

Octone booster does not do a thing for NA engine. FI cleaner is helpful.

Only if you're running fuel that's under the posted octane of your setup. For example, 89 octane in the CL-S. Tossing in a can of boost will up the octane to 92, and then the ECU won't retard the timing to prevent detonation.

Other than that, you're right.

Octane enhancer will do very little for you in this type car. The car can't use the extra octane, so it really a waste of money.
