nono, hehe Crown Vic w/ 03 Cobra Motor...can you say SA-LEAP-ER

Trying to find an auto that would handle the power without having to go to a Powerglide/etc.

Make sure you get a good year crown vic. And little options. Weight difference is pretty good between options/years.

The difference between the lightest and heaviest Crown Vics is only ~300lbs or ~30hp - which frankly doen't bother me with an engine capable of 500whp.

Lightest Crown Vic: 3748
Heaviest Crown Vic: 4039
2003/2004 Cobra Hardtop: 3665

So that puts the heavier Crown Vic ~400lbs or ~40hp slower than the Stang. Not bad at all for a full size sedan. The gear ratios on both the Crown Vic 4R70W and the Lightning transmission are very similar to the 1-3 gearing of the Cobra's tranny, and of course the differential ratios can be changed at will. I want a Police Interceptor car, so it will be one of the heavier models, but it can be lightened up some as well. I know of a 98 Interceptor that's Vortech supercharged (~450hp) that runs mid 12s with all the stock interior. Can you imagine a new Cobra getting their ass whooped by a Crown Vic...oh the look on their face.
