Well if you compare a 6sp at 4.5 psi, to a 5at at 6.5 psi, would you still think so? Now add an intercooler and up it to 8 psi,.... well, we might just have to try that.

I may never get to the track.

I would expect closer to the 15.2 range actually. In comparison, if a CL-S6SC ran a 13.75 on the same day, by your statement it would not be worth the money. But it is still 1.5 seconds faster. That is certainly a significant difference.

Can I come down there??? It would probably cost me more than $500 for the trip!

heheh, that would technically be 'over there' and I am sure it would cost more than that. Unless you could make the roughly 4400 miles Here and back) in a day or two.

when i made my original statement, i was considering that the kit would not be modified. though the extra torque from the sc is nice to have, the hp seems a little low for the auto. you gotta thank comptech for at least making this kit available for us.

Being on the highway and leaving it in the top gear while passing with ease is also nice.
Well said. I've never run a car on the quarter mile, but I do alot of highway passing

I question the reason for asking right now...

Knowing how sometimes pathetically unreasoning people on the forum can be, why run and post a less than ideal time. It has been and still is summer so it is a given that less than perfect times would be run.

As such someone here would compare their run in 40 degree weather at sea level to a blown run at 1500' in 90 degree temps.

As I have stated, when the weather cools times will be provided by myself and others I am sure.

I think in the evenings it's getting to be about 60 or so up north right? Some of you new england guys should be out at the tracks. That's a good temperature to run at. What about west coasters? I know for a fact that SF/SJ and Socal areas near the coast are cool in the evenings even in summer.

As hot as it is right now in GA I wouldn't expect you to run scalbert, but there's a few others on the board that should be posting times in my opinion. No reason to wait until it's the dead of winter. I figure for down south sometime around October is a good time for the track.

launch from a idle

gate shift

1/4 tank or less

20 psi in front, 40 in back

take out spare etc etc etc

dont just nail it off the line, i have never driven a blown cl-s but i'd guess give it 1/3 throttle off the line then just ease into it and drop the hammer, since its ur first time at the track if u can pull some 2.0 60's that would be great, i think its more than possible w/ the power u got down low + the stick toyos

good luck and make sure ya post the #'s, i cant wait to see, make me pround

If he pulled down a 1.8 short time he would easily be in the mid-low 13's. I would expect short times close to what a NA vehicle runs if not a little worse.

I assume you mean in the 6-Speed. Last time I was at track I could only launch at about 1k revs without spinning even with feathering the clutch.

I nuetral bombed this morning thinking I was in SS. Shifted to N, realized the mistake and put it back in D5 at around 5k rpm. Not good! Car seems fine though.

Thanks for the advice, especially the launch at idle. Alot of people recommend brake torqueing but i think that gives too much wheelspin. 20 P.S.I. Yikes !! What about the adjustable Konis, is there a benefit to loosening or tightening the ride ?? Just wondering, right now they are a little more than halfway. Thanks Bud and we'll be posting from Oregon, i'm actually nervous. I've had a million stop light battles, but never at the track !! I'm gonna try and just relax and enjoy

red rider,
for the back i'd put the konis to the stiffest setting. As for the front....it depends on how much wheel hop you get. Trial and error. If you get nice wheel spin without wheel hop then goto the most stiff setting.

That's the ticket. Don't worry about your reaction time just try and get the best launch possible. Zap's right about the koni settings from my experiences at the track.
