any pics or comments on mudflaps?

As I washed my cls today in the first warm non-rainy night, quite a bit of crud on the car just behind the wheels, the first few lower inches behind each wheel well, especially the back. Would the mud flaps help this at all? I think they are black, would they look good on a silver cls?

Nope, the mudflaps don't do a DAMM thing as far as I can see. Waste of money if u ask me.

Well, they say, a picture is worth a thousand words……….

They definitely don’t work as well as they should, but they do knock down about 50-60 percent of the splatter.

With the lousy paint our cars have, I’d say every stone they stop from whacking the paint is worth it.

I agree, they don't do much. But they do improve the looks a bit.

Have a look at them on my car. (see sig for link)

The seem to help (at least somewhat) with removing the debris scattered from the road.

I really hate the gum, grease, oil, and tar that gets kicked up. But I find a lot more inside of the mudflap than out.

Speaking of others not us. I noticed that the cars that were flinging small rocks and debris from the roads were the ones without mudflaps. I was sitting behind a LandRover and it had flaps and I didn't get a single bit of road muck flung at me (I was up in the mountains after a rain/snow). I got sprayed with rocks by cars and SUVs without the mudflaps.

I wish they were on all cars (Mudflaps in general).

I think they are worth it. IMO, the car looks good with them and they will at least help to stop some stuff from splashing up onto the paint, as well as helping to stop stones from nailing the car.

they're not perfect, but they do help stop some of the road grime and rocks from scratching the bottom half of your car. i think its worth the money to decrease the amount of dirt and scratches on your body.

Thanks! They look like a very easy self install. I assume the dealers charge too much for them, where is a good place to order them online?

I think they're better than not having anything at all. They are semi-effective for their size.

Anybody put these on after receiving car from dealer? The dealer wants $89 for them as a dealer option.

They look nice, but don't work as well as they should. It's better than not having any at all though.

I bought mine after I'd had the car for about 3 months. They were very easy to install, although I had to take the rear wheels off. They come with instructions. I paid $98 (incl tax) for mine at a dealer.

AHmotor is the best price I have seen.

I have the black fender well guards. They are exactly the same thing as a door edge guard. I have a black car so they blend and I like them. If I had a different color I might not like the black on the edge of the fender well.

Thanks everyone. I ordered the mudguards ($56), and some touchup paint ($4) for the rock chips, all from ahmotor. I should have everything by thursday.

I have a white CLS and I painted the mudflaps to match. They look better when the are color matched. The black against the white looked bad.

i got these mud flaps from the dealer. i had a coupon for 20% off any original acura part....so i used it for the mud flaps. the rear ones are a pain in the ass to install. i didn't have a small philips and wasn't going to remove the tires just to install these flaps....the front ones were quite simple!

They came today and I put them on this evening. Easy install, took about 20 minutes.

A question on the screws for the front guards. It took no effort to get them out, and they wouldn't tighten up hand tight going back in, would screw in all the way and would then keep turning. Will the mud guards cause them to shake/loosen out, or are they fine? Perhaps a dap of silicon?

Thanks!
