The answer to everyone with flex pipe issues

Hey guys, yes I am one of the lucky fellers who has this issue with my megan racing headers. I went to my muffler shop and basically came to a conclusion. By using the flex pipe on the original downpipe you eliminate the annoying cricket noise. Also, the folks with the small flex pipe in the front of the downpipes of the new megan racing batches, I replaced that with a steel pipe. It doesnt look too great but it gets the job done, no noise and great power! Its too dark to take pictures at the moment so i'll take pics tomorrow.

The flex pipe is there for a reason.

To prevent any damage as your engine naturally moves around in the engine bay.

Yeah but NQ you should only really need one on the downpipe not the two like Megan and a few others have.

Exactly, plus the one in the front got bent because of stupid speed bumps. The OEM flex pipes rock!

the extra small one in the front is the "lazy way" to make them fit properly.

Very true, but the main reason why I did it is because when you finally put it on and it fits correctly, you can take it to the muffler shop and put a steel pipe in there, so for sure you wont ever have fitment issues again. I drove the car tonight, its much nicer now. Plus I also took out the resonator and the whole exhaust system just sounds good now. I totally recommend this for people who get annoyed by the cricket sound...
