Another successful AEM CAI install!

After finally purchasing my CAI from one of the members on this board, I was able to install it tonight with much appreciated help of another member, Xenon7.

Install Time: about 2 and a half hours (Amir name was mentioned about 12 times the first half an hour, after that it got old . Just joshing Amir, cant resist.

I got the AEM CAI without the bypass in RED. Looks real nice, sounds great. This car sounds like its has ballz now. The great thing about this is that it really does not impact regular driving, either with sound or otherwise. Only when you need it, will you know that it's there. This mother gets real loud about 6200 RPM Rustangs be ware, a CLS coming through.

One question, the battery was disconnected throughout the install, after the install and battery connection, Xenon recommended running the car for 5 minutes, shutting it
off, starting it back up and that should be enough as far as ECU reprogramming. Any thoughts here?

Thanks again for everyone who has answered my questions regarding the CAI and of course much thanks to Xenon7 for helping me out and making this a much simpler job than it would have been on my own.

If you disconnected the battery throughout the install you should be fine. The ECU will adjust to your driving habits again anyway only this time with the cai.

....yeah, Big Pimp would question the ECU reset process wouldn't he. :p :p

I negelected to mention that the steps came from a "Blue Team" ASE mechanic at VB Honda in Virginia during one of those evening classes Honda offers to it's clients, showing demonstrations, and teaching basic care for your Honda. I reacall one of the questions centered around the OBDII and ECU.

They recommend the 5 min. idle (no gooseing) and then a restart so the computer can re adjust fuel mapping at idle at a constant RPM. It is to my understanding that this process continues as you drive around for about 100 miles or so/ adjusting and remapping continuously with the new air flow into the manifold.

Just Thought I would through that in there
for fun.
Glad I could help ya out man. I think the install went very well and It looks Foook'n great.

Hey Xenon7, nothing against you :p, just checking and making sure everything is good to go. I am not really feeling the effect yet, so maybe I have to wait for the ecu to reset itself further. Other than that, I like that fact that the car does not sound different at cruising speed on the highway.

Dude...You know I had to give you some sheeeet!! on that one. Just keep cruzen around and wait for these temps to go down. You will notice more with dry 60 degree temps than humid 90 degree temps. I like the dry winter days for the best effect. Last night prob. was the worst time to test run.

Good luck with it!

I'm going to order one soon and may lobby for the fine services of the CLS breathern who live in the area Go out for some beers afterwards or something Yeah, my car has been a dog lately with the high humidity. One day a few weeks ago when it went down into the low 70's......it started jumping like crazy

...I have a great idea You and Zapata purchase the AEM's and we can have a CAI install meet.

BTW/ Big Pimp can bring the chicks and I'll bring the suds!

Seriously though. Might be a good thing!

I think every post I've seen about CAI installs (since Amir's legendary post) mentions his name at least once....hahah
