It's easy to sit back and throw out ideas of what *you* would do with the money.. maybe the owner has a M5 and wants a convertible? This is the car that I want and am working towards... kind of like people saying that I should have bought a Z350 or a G35 instead of a CL-S?

LEXUS SC330?

I thought I read Lexus was coming out again with a SC300 series, for much cheaper. It would drop the top and probably some other features. They have a gap in the coupe line-up. An SC330 for $40k?? would be much more affordable. I don't care about the drop top, I like the car overall.
They's sell more of them in a coupe for under $45k.

Fact is none of you have the money so shut up.

at least it doesnt have hydraulics or more retarded shit.

wonder if a 2JZ-GTE with 6-speed could somehow fit...if not a Roots type would fit fine between the cylinder banks..

why switch engines when there are a few twin turbo/superchargers out for this car? plus, this isnt a drag racer type car, hell whats the pimp factor for if youre going too fast for anyone to notice you? but again, i think a twin supercharged 4.3 litre V8 is enough for that car. im not an engine guy and all, but isnt the 2JZ-GTE the altezza/supra engine? wouldnt this car be too heavy for an engine like that?

o yeah, and what other "retarded shit" does it have on it? i only see baller rims.

a Fact of life: Never count somebody elses money. I am not trying to defend my or anybody else's finacial status, but you simply don't know what people have or don't have. some people live beyond their limits, some live below and some people stay within. Don't be rude.

My uncle is getting a new CLK cabrio. he first looked at the old one a couple months ago and the dealer told him NO hardtop. Although, I told him (thanks to mbspy) that there will be one. He has seen the dealer 3 times after that and he still says no hardtop...well now mbspy agrees. NO hardtop...so does that change your opinion?

BTW, to everybody knocking the SC430, I find it to be a hella nice car. It's not a sports car, so don't bother talking about serious speed.

sorry, but this car is not in the same league as an M3,

you cannot really say that for 62k its slow, if you want a fast car and have 62k, you dont buy a lexus...

i only see old people driving this car, thats it..i've seen a lot of them, only old guys...the speed is plenty for them.

btw, no interior can touch the SC430 interior...

its not all about 0-60 in 4 seconds...

its about the finer things in life, refinement, the wood, the cushy leather, the mark levinson, and it has its share of speed.

point is, this car was not made for racing, its a cruiser.

whoa whoa calm down. I think u misunderstood me. I agree w/ u 100% on the sc430 age range. I was just pointing out two examples that I know of since that contradict what u said: "i only see old people driving this car, thats it..i've seen a lot of them, only old guys...the speed is plenty for them. "

WTF are you guys are smoking? Not everyone who gets a sc430 wants a sport car and they dont want a car to do 1/4 times in...... its a cruizer, and you CLS owners should know what that means.

That's the first SC430 I've seen that looks even slightly attractive and it's only because the rake and the rims look great.

That car is so ugly and played out in stock form.

i dunno about you guys but i think lexus makes incredible interiors period.

also, the style is great IMO. a very pimp car in just about every color but red and champagne. im never a fan of red cars. how can anyone rip on this car? i just dont get it. its a HUGE step up from the previous SC, its a hard top convertible, chicks dig it, probably just as fun to drive as anything it competes with, and it can pass cars on the highway suficiently. great car anyway you fix it up, unless its an unsightly color or small rims.

o yeah and ive seen mostly middle aged people rockin those, but then again, i see mostly middle/old aged people driving CLS's.

Worse yet, I see mostly middle-aged women and old men driving the TLS! I agree, its not always about 0-60 and 1/4 miles. For 60K large I'd take the pimp factor of an SC430 over a vette! Besides I don't quite have the mullet or stache to really pimp out a vette!

Exactly my thoughts... maybe one just wants:

- Lexus Reliability
- A hardtop convertible
- An incredible sound system (Mark Levinson)
- An awesome interior (one of the very best)

it's not all go fast

It's about nice looks, great reliability and an all around sweet ride.

SC430s in general....

nice car

interior is just posh and very

superior quality i'm sure (as with all lexuses)

but too feminine... i'd rather buy it for my wife if i had one... (a wife that is)

Hardtop or no hardtop I still feel its a better car. The SC is a wonderful car...but I feel its about 7-10g overpriced.
And I agree that its no sports car, but it is quick....and quick is just fine with me for those sudden bursts of speed after rolling around do 20.

BTW, it would be pretty shocking if MB doesnt go with a hardtop
