Another race! 2 Blondes in a V6 5spd 99+ Stang! hehe
These 2 fine ass women came up to me at a light. We just left the club and they come up saying nice ride, blah blah blah. I was like thanks, nice Yellow stang! Anyways, they were like wanna race, I was like damn a girl run, I was like hell yea, lets do this. VSA off, popped into SS, ready for launch, light went green she got a good launch, I spun a bit, then once I hooked up, it went way back, 3-4 cars back by 60-70. She even scratched 2nd!!!
She comes up at the next light we both said good run, got respect for a girl racing! Anyways, she was like what you got in that thing, stock, 260hp! She was like damn. Hehee. I should have gotten there #'s, oh well.

You have pullies and headers and you think you can beat 99+ mustang GTs. I'm very confident with my few mods and 100% stock engine, I could take ya, Ever race an LT1?

The last muscle cars became extinct long before your car was around.... As was said earlier,,,, new mustangs are not muscle cars, they are ponies. I promise you, if you raced a "real" muscle car, your little acura would get slammed... Also, why are you bragging that you beat a V6, if you can supposedly beat Cobras and GT's, why would you waste your time with a V6... You seem a little arrogant, it takes far more skill to not race, than to race something that has no ranking with you... You people should learn how to understan vehicle class. If you were in a real racing situation you wouldn't be pit against half the cars you race on the street...

I guess because it has the same number of cylinders it is comparable and the v-6 mustang should be faster than it is. Keep in mind you can walk away with a brand new V-6 off the showroom floor, $13k. That's about $1000.00 more bucks than a hyundia midsize sedan. I hope your cars are faster than such a cheap car. What about power to power? The V-6 mustang is the base model, it is a girl's grocery getter. The CL-S has 260, so does the mustang GT. You're never going to get a true comparison because the cars are totally different built for totally different things. Base model stang against CL-S because they're both 6 cylinders? I guess...
Gas Mileage:
You think your car gets better gas mileage than my V-8? You are very wrong. First off I use 87 (all times cept 100+ weather, i'm being honest) so that's about 30 cents per gallon more you're paying right off the bat. Your car features 10.5:1 compression, that is why it requires high octane. My "gas guzzler" V-8 is a whooping 9.0:1 compression. The sticker on my car is 19/28. I get about that. You honestly get better gas mileage? Keep in mind, you're paying 30*gallons in tank extra so it better be getting atleast 30 mpg around town to compete cost wise.
Research these things before you say, oh it's a v-8 thus it guzzles gas. This is just another reason why I bought a SOHC mustang instead of a pushrod engine type car.

i can take a gt off the line in my jeep with 35 inch tires on it and the mustang wont even start pulling on me till like 40mph, i do have 4.88 gearing in it but still without my borla exhaust/headers and k & n drop in filter i only have 180 or so HP with my inline 6

You're not stating anything that's not obvious.. It's called mechanical advantage and traction from those tires. Any vehicle configured like that will do it, not just jeeps.

I do agree the new Mustangs are weak, but for there price they are well worth the value. If your going to go around and say you beat a Mustang you should choose a GT, if I wasn't living up here I'd go you for a run. Hell my car is even yellow too.
I agree with you 2000GTnoExtras on alot of points well made. Although I think I get the worst gas millage here. I raced 2 chicks in a red v6 Mustang. I was threw the intersection before they new what was going on.

Oh no i've raced GTs too...but it seems that the only drivers that have them are little pre-pubesent 16 year old hicks who like Dale and Jeff and seem to think they can drive like them...(only making a left turn)
Mustangs are what they are and that is all
Us 6cyls can give you a good run for your money...
hell I used to spank GTs in my old VW GTI VR6...and that was a 6cyl!!!
If anyone wants a nice friendly race on the east coast...stock for stock...i'm willing...

'03 Acura 3.2CL TYPE S, YA4163JNW Coupe 2D (6-Spd.) (w/o Navigation System) = $31050.00
Both are Base Retail pricing for my zip code and as little options as possible.
30% more money.

Hmmm, about the technology, you really can't say the new SOHC Mustang is low tech, both cars are very high tech, seriously.
I like the CL-S, my dad has one, I just know my car is faster. I'm not upset about it though.
As for the twisties, I met a Z3 M roadster on the way to Reno, before I got my gears, he couldn't shake my ford, going 120+ up the hill. I do have the "Bullitt Suspension" consisting of 250/600 springs, and tokico shocks and struts.

I would like to see some "real" time slips from some of your Acura's..... not G-Tech, not against other known cars... Real, from the track, time slips... then I will believe

I stand corrected...nice work...but if you wanna go at it anyway, I just like having some fun!
Eric4Nitrous:ahem...if I needed a trailer to get my car to a race, then I would race you...we're talking stock vs. stock here...
JakeCL: Ditto I wanna know that too!

I test drove the new GT's and the LS-1's before I bought my cobra. Both cars are nice with good potential. But dont forget that the LS-1 is quite a bit more expensive.
I settled on the cobra cause it offered the best of both worlds the looks of a stang and speed.
Anyone live near west Texas I would love to race one of these Acura stang killers.
I will race in my cobra, my GT or even my suped up CRX.

preference for me.. I don't like the way the Camaro looks, that an F-Body GM cars are known for their chassis problems. They have constant noise, rattles, etc.. It's been an issue for years, also when you sit in one it feels like you are sitting on the ground.

I've got a question for you, why did you buy a CL if you want to race mustangs or any cars for that matter? Do you really think you can compete?

Thank you, I consider the issue forgotten.... I don't hate Acura's, I do like the way they look... I just have a problem with attitudes, it doesn't matter the car..
--BTW.. I am not trying to yell at anyone, so no one take anything I say personally, just a nice heated debate.

can we compete? why do you think we are even having this conversation? do you think we would say anything if we didn't think we could compete...
our cars aren't really meant for the dragstrip though, they just happen to be pretty quick...
we'll never have a 11 sec luxury coupe...
but you can easily have an 11 sec Mustang...
however...we think stock vs. stock...based on experience on the streets...that we can compete...and give you a good run...
ya know the difference between a 6 sec 0-60 car and a 5.4 sec 0-60 car?
blink...hesitate...and the 6 sec car might have ya...
how old are you anyway?

Lots to see here. San Antonio is popular for tourism. www.mysa.com might have info on tourism somewhere. But we have lots from theme parks to the Alamo, etc.
