Ok guys - you'll get a kick out of this. A good friend of mine at work drove my CLS the other day when we went out, and LOVED it (even before I got my Kumhos!). He has a 2001 Maxima SE auto and he says the CLS kicks the Maxima's ASS in handling and acceleration (not that that's new news... even Maximaniac will give in to this). So he went to Fountain Acura the other day to get one... only he's too upside down on his Maxima to get a CLS. So when he gets the opportunity, he's getting a CLS! HA!

this is a no brainer. the problem is like with any other car, brand loyalty. i have a max too(99),which i think is better than the 00/01. it does not hold a candle to my cl-s,period. not in accel, luxury, handling, nothing, yet it is a terrific car. it just shows you how well done ours is.my max's sticker was 30,000 vs the cl-s 30,330,although the max was gotten for 24 k
i will not even look at a max till they get rid of its horrible looks and have the 260 hp available, again, in a nice looking body. same with the i30/i35

I had a 92 Max SE and loved it (at least when not being beaten off the line -- it was an auto), and would have gone with another if not for the back end I couldn't stand, lack of a 5-speed auto, and a price that was within a few thousand of the CLS...

I agree, I love my Maxima SE (99) and bought it the same day the new ones came in cause I didnt like the new styling at all.
but the two cars arent in the same league. The Cl-s is leagues ahead.

 

well, i guess i am a maxima maniac that transformed to acura, but like i posted earlier this week, my parents just completed the hat trick in maximas by pickin up teh 2001. IN college i owned a 89 silver bitchin maxima, that now my dad drives to the station every day, and then i got a 98 green maxima se that i had till i gave that to my mom last summer and got the cl-s. ALmost got a 3rd maxima myslef, but hated the awful lookin tail lites and well, just the fact of havin 3 of the same cars in a row was frighting to me, plus, i think i got a better car in the CL-s, adn i did.

But as for next car, who knows how acura is goin to play the nissan 255hp maxima but, i really hope they do it well, casue i really dont want to go back to nissan, but i will if the i35 kicks the tl-s balls to the WALL. bUT till that day, im very happy and content with my cl-s, and everytime i drive with my flowmaster exaust, i love everysecond on it.
